Smart defensive all time greats
whitaker, locche, mayweather, pep, Benitez when he wasn't totally insane among others
Sweat Pea in his prime was damn near impossible to hit. Corey Spinks and B-Hop are very good at avoiding damage and clean punches as well.
I list more obscure ones: Charlie Burley, Sandy Saddler, Parnell Whitaker.
I know he's not an ATG, but I love the way Glenn Johnson looks in the ring. He has a super tight guard and throes a near perfect inside hook. Very unappreciated in my opinion
Though I might catch some flack for this, Bernard Hopkins' status as a 49-year-old champion is a testament to his ring IQ. There are other factors, of course, but the old man has a lot of tricks up his sleeve (besides dirty fighting and acting).
Duran, when he didn't wanna brawl. Very slick.
Hopkins is the answer here.
Mike McCallum could make such a list.
Seems like an appropriate thread to repost these gems:
Archie Moore. Can't believe he gets left out of these lists.
Moore gets left out when we add in the likes of Ezzard Charles, his almost definite better. Still, Moore was an exceptional fighter.
