Hey Everyone,

In 2006 when I was a blue belt I made a video of my favorite closed guard positions and attacks in response to a questions someone had on YouTube. Since then I am now a black belt and the video has received close to 470,000 views, 720 likes, and over 400 comments along with many emails and messages from people saying the video has helped them a lot and they were able to successfully use a lot of the techniques. 5 years later I decided to redo the video.

It is better quality, has more techniques that I use, no crappy music, and I also added voice over. I hope this one can continue to help and even take place of the last one. Please share if you enjoy and thank you for watching.

P.S. Here is the link to the old video as well for comparison: Closed Guard BJJ (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) Techniques - YouTube

P.P.S If you are interested in me doing MORE videos like this from other situations please let me know.

Holy hell that's a lot of techniques in one video!

TBH it's a bit much and a bit quick to be able to use as an instructional, but definitely very good to see all of the options you have from the closed guard.

I definitely will watch this video a few times to familiarize myself with all of these different options.

Thanks!

Exactly...meant for just that to be a quick reference. The old video was the same. If you have questions about any sections just let me know. If I get the same questions then I will created a detailed video with instructions on just that section.

as a fellow guard player i love it.....r u ever in NY? if so come by n train =)

excellent stuff! Love how quickly everything goes, with no fluff, just movements with a brief description, perfect for people with ADD like me lol.

Wow that is alot of techniques! I like all of them lol. Awesome vid

Hello.....My name is Eddie and I started a new vlog. I did jiu-jitsu

for about 2 years and then I had to stop for about a year and a half.

Now I'm getting back into it and I have a great team behind

me....Alliance Orlando!!! Our Instructor is Michael Langhi and if you

dont know he is a multiple time world champ and a super nice guy.

Come join me as I train and try to get better:) So please check out

my videos and if you like them...SUBSCRIBE! Thanks....I appreciate it :)

Sorry man...but you posted this on multiple threads without even saying anything related to the content of the thread. I just looked at the "JT Torres vs. Ryan Hall" thread and you spammed that thread too. That is NOT how you get supporters and followers. There is a right way of doing it and a wrong way, you are currently in my opinion headed towards the wrong way. Please reevaluate how you try to get followers before you kill what you're trying to accomplish. Until then I will not subscribe.

Fantastic video. Very clear demonstration, and a great summary of various closed guard options, basically covering all the basic ones I teach in the white belt class at my academy (save for some collar chokes). I might share this video on our facebook page, I think it could be a great reference for our beginners. Thanks!

WOW...this video in only 15 hours has over 100 likes on YouTube...Thanks you everyone for the feedback!

Thanks for sharing,if I could make a request, i'd like to see the gift wrap/cobra choke broken down.

VN1, lots of info and you make the moves in a nice fluid manner. Great quality too, hope it is as successful as the first one. Really liked the ones a bit after 4 min from the Nino guard, love all schembri moves
Thanks for passing knowledge along

the voiceover is really good. i love when videos have crisp, clear sound.

Very nice Jason. That's a great reference and you were really smooth showing the positions. Everyone needs to develop their closed guard, at least at first. Before your half, spider, butterfly, gorilla, mothra, etc guards... you need the base from closed. Even if it isn't one's primary guard, it teaches how to stay tight, which helps in both MMA and nogi. The only thing I could suggest is a cool soundtrack to go with the video. ;-)

Hey brother, tried to PM you but your all full..Let me know when you delete some stuff by shooting me a PM, thanks. And loved the video...keep up the good work.
