... yet now that Conor uses his leverage to basically have 155ers fight closer to their natural non-cutting weight at 170, most are outraged and complaining ... ???

Not a Conor fan nor hater, just an appreciator of no - or limited - weight cutting and everyone fighting around their real weight.

    What’s the problem?

The problem is its Conor, they can't think rationally about anything when it comes to Conor.

It always amazes me that in a sport where the goal is to hit someone so hard you make their brain shut down, sherdogs main concern is fighters dehydrating themselves.

The problem is Conor is trying to fight LW's at WW in order to get a title shot at LW. Stop acting like he's a hero and not a dork.

b-but bro its fair! they're the same weight A DAY BEFORE the fight! sure there's up to a 20 lbs difference on fight night, but it's fair!

MMA fans honestly blow my mind with how dumb they are. Conor and Kav have the right idea. If it's not a title fight but you've proven you can make title weight, just fight at a catchweight or up a weight class so you don't have to cut.

That’s ok by me, they are all 155ers simply not cutting, or cutting less, and meeting at 170.

How it actually should be! Huge cutting is a practice that should be eliminated.

Great, then you agree Conor should stay at WW instead of getting a title shot at LW. Glad you're thinking clearly.

what a nonsensical statement. Fighting lightweights without cutting weight isn't the same as fighting actual welterweights who are cutting down to 170.

I'm one of them, so let me answer with a metaphor.

I'm against long prison sentences. I think Americans often lock up too many people for too many years.

But if one guy gets clemency because his family donated to the governor's campaign, it does not make me feel better about the system because that one with special privileges got out prison in a reasonable amount of time. In fact, it makes me think worse of the system as a whole.

Conor also has the time to put on weight appropriately for 170. It's not like he was planning on a 155 fight and last minute he just decided not to cut.

Remember when max moved up to 155 to fight Dustin and looked physically smaller in the cage.

What if one’s (privileged) clemency gets others clemency too, and helps the whole clemency idea become more acceptable by the justice system?

Because Conor isn’t fighting alone and it’s happening with the UFC’s approval ...

Like totally. And then peace....in the Middle East.

He is not asking for systemic weight cutting changes in UFC or MMA. He is asking to have the privilege of earning a shot at 155 by fighting other 155ers not at 155. Not for everyone, and not for a title shot. Just him, while he climbs the ranks at 155 (by fighting at 170, against other 155ers).

Let's not obfuscate the facts. Thanks.

Its funny when fans shit on fighters for cutting a lot of weight especially if they got nothing else on the fighter. They all cut weight besides the few that i could count on 1 hand.

Weight cutting is part of MMA and they cut more and more. Each division fighters get bigger theres not much that can be done about that.
