Think about it...
Nah. Jones is too fast for Palhares to get inside and even grab a leg. Look at how Cormier couldn't get a decent takedown attempt.
gus beat him the first time and will beat him next time too.
jones isn't that impressive when he fights someone his own size.
Haha. So true.
Leglocks are the antidote to bigger or taller guys.
Harris has a better chance than most LHWs.
Paul Harris couldn't enforce his will upon Hector Lombard, therefore he would be able to snap Jon Jones' leg and win streak.
Thought about it, and then I giggled
gee, that's a lot to think about.
Jones would pick him apart from the Outside. However if he actually got Jones down, it would be interesting. Palhares bulked up is a strong guy and I wouldn't be surprised if Paul Harris at 185 is stronger than Jones at 205 physically. Jones is just too good on his feet and has great TDD, so it would never happen.
Jones would break his skull with a elbow while he looks for the leg
there goes JJ's skinny legs..
Just like how he beat Belcher. Oh wait.
This, this man is right, and to date he only fought 1 decent fighter his own size and had lots of trouble with it. Move up you coward
It was a close fight. No one beat anyone on that night, it was a pick em. Gus did more damage but Jones won the point fight with current scoring.
I am going to bet on this one and I am betting that Bones wins. He is better each fight. He just outwrestled DC , a guy who rag dolled Hendricks and had his way with Barnett.
We are seeing the best fighter the UFC has ever had right now. His run is even more impressive than Andersons. Anderson striking is still better than Bones but Bones has no weakness. Anderson strugged with wrestlers. He isn't very likeable but he is a beast
You have the ring, and I see your Schwartz is as big as mine. Now let's see how well you handle it.
Pretty much that... he wouldn't be able to throw his weight on his leg to get him down, and that's assuming he could even get close to him which is most likely the case.
The threads and responses today are simply amazing. Keep it up ladies!
I agree, TS. palhares' chances against bones are about as good as it gets. bones would likely smash him, but palhares has the specific style to beat him. say what you will, but that 170 lb tree trunk wrapped around jon's bony leg has "violent submission" written all over it. it's an incredible matchup that I would love to see. I would love to see everybody in the world fight Toquinho or Imanari just to see who passes the test. Toquinho is exceptionally dangerous because he's just so fuckin powerful. And Jones has exceptionally bony legs that make it more interesting (the same goes for Anderson).
Some LHW fighters have overall better chances than palhares, though. Someone like gus can match his frame and movement, reducing the fight to battle of skill and heart. That, itself, might still be an uphill battle when fighting bones. Rumble might just be too heavy-hipped and athletic to be outwrestled or bullied; he's definitely got the power advantage, too.
Belcher is a BJJ expert. Jones is not even a blackbelt and probably hasn't focused intensely on leglocks. And Palhares said he wasn't healthy in the Belcher fight and that he would get that sub against Belcher on most days (not sure I believe him, but he looked extremely good against Fitch). Jones long chicken legs must be tasty looking for someone like Palhares.
