Who do you think is the most intimidating Boxer of all time? Which boxer struck fear and terror into his opponent's hearts like no other?
    Some candidates:

    - Jack Dempsey
    - Sonny Liston
    - George Foreman
    - Mike Tyson

Feel free to choose any other boxer if you like.

Personally, I think it's Sonny Liston.
George Foreman said he was wary of Sonny when they sparred.
Floyd Patterson was scarred of him when they met in their fight.
Henry Cooper said that he'd cross the street if he saw Liston walking towards him on the sidewalk.
Hell, even Ali said that Liston was one of the few opponents who made him nervous before their fight.

    What do you think?

Certainly Tyson had one of the most intimidating personalities in the sport.
However, imo, if you took all the aforementioned boxers I mentioned in my first post and told them to fight one another, Liston would have the most success in scaring his peers.

In a hypothetical Liston vs Tyson matchup, I can certainly see Liston mentally bullying Tyson. Plus, Tyson himself said that he tried to emulate Sonny's menacing demenor when he started boxing.

Tyson, Foreman, Liston, and a host of fighters before they started losing. Tommy Hearns, Wilfredo Gomez, Julian Jackson couldn't have been a fun opponent with his sick power.

You think you were kicking his ass, then out of the blue ...

Tyson and Liston. Foreman although he hit hard as hell admitted he was nervous about fighting Frazier.

I'm going to go with George Foreman #1

    He was a destroyer, period.

The HW division was competitive with Ali, Frazier, Norton...then came Big George and devoured HWs left and right!

and everyone was "WTF? who is this beast?"

I grew up in the Tyson era so I remember all of the media appearances he made. That guy has said and done some intimidating shit.

Tyson is a pretty obvious choice.

If I had to go by looks alone I would probably pick Nikolai Valulev

Vitali Klitschko is also pretty scary looking. Both dudes are giants and for some reason eastern european dudes look fucking mean to me.

Ill never forget after Vitali fought Lennox Lewis, Vitali had the most fucked up look on his face after they stopped it. He looked like he was ready to kill someone. I'm pretty sure he said something less than flattering to Lewis too.

YouTube - Vitali Klitschko vs. Lennox Lewis part 4

You can see what I'm talking about at 5:35-5:45. I would never want that man to look at me that way.

I'd think the idea of fighting Foreman would be horrifying, the guy literally moves his torso and you may go into a coma.

    Foreman.
