So clearly Jones is the most hated right now. And Tito is one of the most hated of all time.

Who is the most beloved champ (in any era)?

I think some candidates are Randy Couture and BJ Penn.

I feel that Anderson and GSP had a fair amount of hate when they were champs. People gave Anderson crap for the Leites/Maia fight. And people gave GSP crap for not finishing fights.

It seems Couture and Penn were very beloved champs.

    Machida.

Pretty classy guy who managed to maintain a respectful stance towards his opponents by UFC standards.

True about both of those guys. Thing is though both of their reigns were short, so I guess I didn't think of them as beloved UFC champs like Randy and Penn.

It didn't last too long because of the shitstorm that was the Machida v. Shogun 1 decision.

Currently, Robbie Lawler is probably the most liked champ somehow. Chuck was probably the most popular ever though. GSP also had a lot of the Canadian casuals.

Your memory needs a little tune-up (no offense), Chuck got a TON of hate for his constant eye poking back then. That's not to say he wasn't mostly beloved, but he definitely had his fair of haters.

I think OP probably got it correct with Couture and BJ Penn. They had undying support even in their losses, which says a lot about the kind of charisma they have when you consider basically everyone's fan base resets as soon as they lose. Even Anderson Silva was suddenly shit in the minds of your average MMA fan after just one loss.

Probably Chuck or Randy in the old days. Currently I guess maybe Robbie Lawler & Anthony Pettis. Seems like most current champs have haters. I would say Mighty Mouse is pretty all around liked but even he has haters just because he's 125 lbs.

Aldo? I don't recall seeing any "haters" of him on here.

I was thinking Chuck (and main-stream popularity wise, this may be the case), but perhaps Couture.
