Never has an image so perfectly captured the problem with the UFC's product over-saturation.
Literally just interchangeable faces not even worth photographing for promotional use.

Oversaturation? Fuck im old. Used to be you'd search far and wide for any mma you could get. Watch old events a million times. Stay up all hours of the night. Walk barefoot in the snow just to get some mma.

I quite enjoy the series. Fights usually don't go the distance. Also, UFC had here most profitable year to date in 2017 if I recall correctly.

There are literally multiple events per week now. It's crazy.

UFC can't win. Fans complain that there's no exciting fighters, so they create a developmental league to bring exposure to young talent.

Then fans complain the "product is oversaturated" because of too much MMA to watch. Some people just complain because they can.

How about this - if there's an event that you want to watch, then watch it, and if it doesn't interest you, don't. Crazy concept, right?

The only problem with the popularity of MMA is that there is no way I can keep tabs on all the awesome promotions and events going on. UFC, Bellator, ONE, Rizin, M1, ACB, PFL, Cage Warriors, Kunlun MMA, and a tonne more. Its an amazing time

I think I'm becoming a Casual....

I've got some good news for you: Kunlun is trash and doesn't need to be watched, and ACB is dead.

There. Your life got easier.

I'm not complaining just to complain. The UFC used to be a place for the best fighters on the planet. Events were pretty much "must see" at all times because each one was stacked. Often there was 2-3 weeks between cards, which gave the company time to promote cards.

Now they can literally just toss ten random guys into a card on a Tuesday and say "Watch these guys you've never heard of, have some fights you'll never remember, and like it!" It's the antithesis of what the UFC was just several years ago.

I mean, are you pumped for these two guys to go at?

I used to know every UFC fighter on the roster but then Fight Pass came along and there were all these international fighters that I had no clue about.

I don't see the issue. It's a UFC minor league event on fightpass. It's supposed to be nobodies watched by hardcores willing to pay for fightpass so they get a little extra content. Who cares?

You make a good point. However I see this less as "let's make a niche product for a niche group" and more "let's just water down the product to the fullest extent.... these guys are literally not even worth having photos on our site."

Mainly because I will be their live in attendance...

UFC website absolutely sucks - it's beyond me how they don't fix that shit

Now we just stream it.

Part of the program's charm is that of discovery. Who cares if you don't know what they look like before you see what they can do?

But while we all like seeing guys being signed to the UFC, then they need fights. It's the shopper's dilemma of picking that one perfect item to buy, then getting home and trying to cram it into the closet already overstuffed with previous "one perfect item"s. That's when your oversaturation issue comes into play.
