I know this has been discussed some but my god, Montano has no chance whatsoever it would seem.

I watched both of their most recent fights. The Montano fight was hard to get through. Very low level stuff. Slow as molasses, predictable striking on both sides yet Montano still got marked up. Poor takedowns and top control by Montano. All around, looked like an amateur level fight.

Shevchenko on the other hand absolutely annihilated her opponent. Granted Cachoeira is far from a top level opponent, Shevchenko looked exactly like a top fighter should against an opponent of this calibre. She rocked her on the feet almost immediately then proceeded to absolutely smash her with ground and pound. 230-3 in strikes.

I don't see Nicco fairing any better than Cachoeira as she looked just as amateurish in my opinion. Does anybody think Nicco has an iota of a chance in this fight? If so, please tell me why, I'm genuinely interested to hear.

Couldn’t agree more. Ones been fighting and beating the best while the other was gifted a title shot for beating up a crack head.

Shev could cause herself an injury before or during maybe...

It's MMA so anything can happen but I mean... come on now

I would like to check, but could it be that Montano is the biggest betting underdog in the history of the UFC as a defending champion?

I don't believe any defending champion has been as big an underdog. The only other that would come close imo is Serra against GSP 2, but even then Serra had already knocked him out so had better odds.

I'm still mad they gave us this shit stain of a card, Woodley/Till is an obvious lay and pray match. Bullet is going to run thru montano like butter and the Zabit fight Is lame now

There's only one way to find out how much of a mismatch it really is.

230-3 against the novice with the busted knee and Val didn't kill her?

This tells me that maybe Val doesn't hit too hard. Also something I've noticed with her, when plan A doesn't work, carry on with plan A.

Shevchenko's gameplan was obviously to take the brawler down and finish her with ground and pound. When the ref showed no interest in stopping the fight Val just carried on with plan A. In the end Priscila more or less had to remind her to take the rnc, deep into the second round. Same thing in the Nunes fight where she expected the champ to gas. Great skills, low fight IQ.

The good thing about this is that a legit fighter will hold a UFC belt in that poor division.

The crack head had more fight left in her too if Yamasaki would’ve let it go to round 3. Valentina was slowing down.

Lol @ people who think Valentina is gonna finish Montaño. This goes 5 rounds.
