What currently active fighters would you say fall into the slugger style?
hes a slugger for sure and he gets too invested in his punching which results in him over committing but he does do several things that are pretty as well and he really tightened up his game towards the end of his run. I wish him and Uchiyama could have fought again under the right circumstances.miura is as basic as it gets. Salido is pretty basic too, but has more craft
its post-modern sluggingwilder...his slugging is on a different level. slugs differently than sluggers
its actually an interesting question where people draw the line between slugger and brawler, and the connotations that they attach to the title.Define the "slugger" style

oh, provodnikov, that's an obvious choice
That body shot he dropped Roman with was beautiful though.miura is as basic as it gets. Salido is pretty basic too, but has more craft

i think your selling foreman's skill a little short, but i agree with what your saying.Well, if you think about it and what the words actually mean the definition is quite different.
A brawler is someone who likes to get in and fight, a scrapper, Jack Dempsy would be the epitome, Rocky Marciano would also come to mind.
A slugger is a reference to someone getting slugged or hit hard, so if your going to call someone a slugger it would be someone who doesn't rely on traditional boxing skills of hit and move etc, it is someone who walks you down because they rely on the fact that they are going to hit you harder then your going to hit them.
George Foreman again is the epitome, not much head movement, very basic blocking skills, just walks you down and tries to take your head off.
Golovkin???That Korean dude...
What's his name??
While I agree with your breakdown of the differences we can disagree about the fighters. This is one of those topics though that varies from fan to fan some people see intelligent pressure guys as brawlers while others would say the dudes a slugger who relies on pressure thus provoking more close up fights. And then of course there are many fighters who can drift between different styles like a Carbajal who could box at range slug it out while pressuring guys or get in somebody’s face and brawl.Well, if you think about it and what the words actually mean the definition is quite different.
