Fast forward to today, picked one up to get rid of an Armadillo problem, these things are a riot.

I've only seen an armadillo one time. Fucker snuck up on us while we were out having a smoke one night. Bigger than I expected.

They also curl up in a ball and bounce around after you shoot them . . . . my FIL always asked me to wake him up if I saw one in his yard when I was going home (before my wife and I got married) so he could shoot it. I've held the flashlight on one for him several times.
