Mod changed my username after 3 years. Why?

My username is now Power2. Why?

I had special HMTL characters for my name, which are now removed.

It seems that if that were no longer appropriate someone would alert me, then give me options, comp me a new name, since it was being forced on me, rather than arbitrarily changing out of the blue?

I don't want to be known as "Power2". lol

We disallow as a practice the use of nonstandardised characters in usernames as it prevents the convenience of many in-community features to include username input for purposes of notification by standard keyboard. HTML symbols fall into said disallowance. Sorry for any inconvenience the standardisation of your username has caused but the difference is arguably negligible.
