Mob Boss Reviews Mafia Movie Scenes

A bit of a clickbait on Buzzfeed. Technically speaking, Michael Franzese was a capo in the Colombo crime family.

Never the less, in the video below he is reviewing various mob scenes and rating them. Funny enough, the Simpsons scene was more realistic than one of the godfathers scene in terms of how a mobster would act in a situation.

Thank you for this

Hope he got a good deal

In mob terms, he didn't spend much time in prison. He's pretty much living it up, having led a life of crime. I don't want to give off any sense of respect for his character, but you can't help but be impressed. Dude is on Youtube, with no fucks given. He did his thing, made his money, and got out relatively unscathed. Hard not to appreciate how he made life his bitch.

Yeah, I enjoy his interviews a lot. The guy is really a good interview very informative

like when he spoke on Al Sharpton being a rat.

True, Michael talks like he is a man in his mid to late 30s. Very articulate and sharp while folks his age tend to be slowed down and somewhat senile. True in regards to genetics. Him and his father have the type of cells/DNA that doesn't fall apart easily.

For sure its genetics because they have not lived a healthy lifestyle.

Show a bit of respect bro!

He turned his life around and talks about how the mob operates. He educated the public on why folks became mafioso. You have to understand that back in the day, Italians had a hard time finding jobs. Some places that were hiring would write " no Italians" and that's a shitty thing to do dude.

Hence these guys got together and they either make it as criminals or they would up in prison. Back then, there was no homeless shelters or welfare meals. You end up on the street then you are good as dead.

That's why todays kids wont fare well in the mob life. They have too much option, less discrimination when it comes to finding work and if they end up on the street, they can just loiter in public places and have shelters. No need to join the mob since back then it meant your literal survival.

It was different times back then and that's why lots of mafiosos don't want their kids in the business. It was not their dream job. Made men don't make that good of a money and they could still get wacked like their nothing if they get accused of shit they didn't do or if the higher ups simply don't like them. If it was glorious its only because the alternative for them is being a homeless guy with nowhere to get food. Hence Al Capone was a hero because he would have soup kitchens and fed the poor.

I am not aware of that thread. What was it?

This guy lived in america, first world country, in the 70s, was literally in a medical college before turning criminal so he had every option for normal life.

So the "didnt have a choice but to join the mob" doesnt fly here, just another greedy guy who wanted in to game. Most mobsters are absolutely retarded brain wise

This coming from a guy who worked for russian mafia indirectly as a teen

He was involved in a scheme that was more financial in nature(gasoline scam) and relatively untapped and new back then, unlike the usual drugs and guns thing

Financial guys usually land pretty good because they are actually smart unlike your typical run and gun street guy.

Guy from wolf of wall street is doing ok as well

Want to be criminal in 2020?

Two professions that really dont do much time in prison and make good money

Very cool. I love that he does this kind of stuff (I’ve watched a lot of interviews with him and other things as well). He’s very open about a lot of the things he knows about in that life.. now how he gets away with talking about it as openly as he does is baffling to me but it is what it is. I have to assume it’s because so much of what he knew or knows is dead and gone.

Frank Cullota (sp) (former Chicago Outfit hit man from the Casino days) is another great source too if anyone is interested.

Okay, Fredo...

What I meant is that this is how the mafia started in America. Folks were being discriminated and in turn decided to become a mafioso. Now keep in mind that this guy has a weird case since his 102 year old dad was like one of the originals and so he just followed his dads footstep since his dad is extremely old school. But the grand kids are in school.

There is a reason why you don't see mafia in modern times. Its over, these guys wanted to make a better life for their children and children's children. They did that. Not all of it was done from a place of pure evil. Also that it was a different mentality back then. With Peaky Blinders, you had lots of them serve in WW1 and they would come back from war to a place with no opportunities.

I don't condone what they did, but they are doing a respectable job keeping their children away from the business.

oh snap! IT JUST GOT REAL IN HERE! CALM DOWN!

LOL never thought I would see this type of shit. epic

Oh' this guy. One of the guys who escaped any kind of real punishment, and lives it up to this day with all the money he made.

If he's the same guy I'm remembering, I saw a doc on him, where he was going on about making like ten million a month on some gas racket. Never got into much trouble, and just slipped through the cracks of justice and mob justice. What a life.
he went to prison brah he didn't escape justice
iirc he was in prison for a while.
This guy is 70???wow just wow
he looks healthier than my 62 year old dad.

I believe he did an 8 year stint once. It's really nothing at all, considering he kept his money and his lifestyle when all was said and done. It's pretty rare to get out of that life in that way. 9/10 times, they get killed, get life in prison, or go into witness protection and get all of their ill gotten assets seized. This guy just walked away with everything.

The fact that DONNIE BRASCO aka Joey Pistone is still alive blows my mind.
