And when the US depletes its natural resources like Scandanavia will do in a generation? What then?Scandanavia's GDP isn't based on manufacturing and production like the US. Its based on natural resources, which the US has but is not a sustainable plan. Why do you think we've fought to bring production and manufacturing back to the states? Why have we fought so hard to protect those "evil rich people"? Because we need them to sustain our economy as it stands now. Now imagine we have to pay for everyone's health care, education etc with tax dollars in a country that is unable to secure its borders and further offers to support anyone who leaps over the border?
This plan is clownish and shortsighted. If you think its the powers that be in this country (in manufacturing and production) are going to play ball "because Scandanavia", then you're a fool. You're ensuring your kids will grow up in a economically flat United States.
Whats going to happen, and you know this is true, is that these corporations will say "well, bye" and we'll cut a deal with them to stay where they contribute about what they do now (which is already close to a 40% tax rate) and its assholes like you and me that will be paying the bill.
Further, is the green left suddenly going to be OK with over exploitation of natural resources? You know the answer to that one too.
We aren't running out of resources in 100 years, or 200.
Our economy is based 25% on finance, another 17% of GDP goes to HC. Basically half the US economy is banks and HC. They literally can't pick up and leave. Like that is impossible.
