MISS BALA's Stephanie Sigman as New Bond Girl in SPECTRE

Stephanie-Sigman-030915-Dragonlord.jpg

As if Monica Bellucci and Lea Seydoux weren't already enough, Daniel Craig is going to have another Bond girl to try his best one-liners on in the next 007 film.

In an announcement made via the official James Bond 007 Facebook page, Mexican actress Stephanie Sigman has joined Spectre, cast as the as-yet-unknown character Estelle. Given that Sigman is the lesser-known of the three Bond girls announced so far, speculation has already started to gather than she won't make it to the final credits. One Facebook user suggested she'd be the film's "sacrificial lamb."

Sigman has previously starred in Mexico's 2011 Oscars foreign language submission, Miss Bala, as well as the Norwegian thriller Pioneer. Recent TV appearances include FX's U.S. remake of the Danish/Swedish series The Bridge and Netflix's Narcos.

Alongside Sigman, other new additions to the 24th 007 movie include Christoph Waltz, Dave Bautista and Andrew Scott. Spectre is set to release in the U.S. on November 6.

Joe Carnahan to Write and Direct Action Thriller MOTORCADE

Joe-Carnahan-The-Grey-Set-031115-Dragonlord.jpg

Joe Carnahan has signed on to write and direct Motorcade, the long-in-the-works action thriller set up at DreamWorks. Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald are executive producing. The story centers on a Secret Service agent who fails to prevent an attack that occurs on the president of the United States and his motorcade.

DreamWorks picked up the project as a pitch from Hans Bauer and Craig Mitchell back in 2004 for low- to mid-six figures. The project always has attracted a level of interest and drew writers Ehren Kruger, Billy Ray and Robert Rodat to it for rewrites. Jon Cassar was attached to direct it at one point.

Carnahan is known for his gritty thrillers such as Narc, Smokin’ Aces and The Grey, the latter a surprise 2011 hit starring Liam Neeson. He also helmed the big-screen version of The A-Team. The most recent movie he directed was Stretch, a Blumhouse thriller whose theatrical release was tabled. It eventually was released on iTunes and Amazon.

Kate Mara to Star in Ridley Scott-Produced Sci-Fi MORGAN

Kate-Mara-031115-Dragonlord.jpg

Kate Mara is attached to star in Morgan, a sci-fi thriller just set up at Fox with Luke Scott, the son of filmmaker Ridley Scott, on board to make his feature directorial debut. Anya Taylor-Joy, who made a breakthrough performance with a starring turn in the Sundance horror movie The Witch, is in final negotiations to star opposite Mara.

Ridley Scott is producing. Seth Owen wrote the script, which was on the 2014 Black List, the annual list of best unproduced screenplays. The story centers on a corporate risk-management consultant who is summoned to a remote research lab to determine whether or not to terminate an at-risk artificial being.

Morgan will be the third feature that Mara does for Fox in recent times. She will be seen as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman in this summer’s Fantastic Four and is currently shooting The Martian, which Ridley Scott is directing. Taylor-Joy became a hot commodity when she made her feature debut in Witch, the moody period horror movie from Robert Eggers that generated considerable buzz at Sundance.

Luke Scott directed a sci-fi short titled Loom and worked with his father on Exodus: Gods and Kings, in which he acted as a second unit director. (Fun fact: He appeared onscreen in his father’s first feature, 1977’s The Duelists.)

Joseph Kosinski Confirmed to Direct TRON 3 for Disney

Joseph-Kosinski-Tron-031115-Dragonlord.jpg

Walt Disney Pictures has attached Joseph Kosinski to direct Tron 3, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed Wednesday. Disney is understood to be eyeing a fall 2015 start of production for the follow-up to Tron: Legacy, which has not yet been officially greenlighted. Kosinski was behind the sci-fi movies Oblivion, starring Tom Cruise, and Tron: Legacy, which was shot in Vancouver.

Studio operators in the West Coast city are in the running to possibly land the Tron 3 shoot, but no bookings have yet been confirmed, according to local players. Vancouver will host another sci-fi tentpole this year, Star Trek 3. Toronto in 2015 will host production on Warner Bros.' Suicide Squad movie, based on the DC Comics property, and Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim 2.

Garrett Hedlund is expected to reprise his role as Samuel "Sam" Flynn, son of the Grid's creator Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges). At the end of the last film, Sam was able to escape that virtual reality and get back to the real world. He brought with him the algorithm known as Quorra (Olivia Wilde). There's still no word yet on if Wilde will be back.

Devastating Trailer for Doc KURT COBAIN: MONTAGE OF HECK

Kurt-Cobain-Montage-of-Heck-031115-Dragonlord.jpg

The critically acclaimed Kurt Cobain documentary Montage of Heck doesn't premiere on television until May 4th, but HBO has unveiled a devastating two-and-a-half-minute trailer packed with snippets of never-before-seen home movies and family photos. The sneak peak also shows how Montage of Heck will seamlessly integrate animation into the story of the Nirvana frontman, much like director Brett Morgen did with his Robert Evans doc The Kid Stays in the Picture.

In the trailer (via Yahoo!), we see that the Montage of Heck arc follows Cobain as a precocious, shy child growing up in the Pacific Northwest as he matures into a rebellious teen and ultimately a generational rock star who, as one family member says, was unprepared for the tidal wave of fame that was approaching.

The trailer, like the film, is paced by interviews with family members and bassist Krist Novoselic, as well as a taped conversation between Cobain and Rolling Stone's David Fricke. While the first look is full of intimate moments from the singer's life, the most poignant comes in the home movies that show Cobain playing with his infant daughter, Frances Bean. Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck will open in UK theaters on April 10th.

Liam Neeson Says He's Quitting Action Movies in Two Years

Liam-Neeson-GQ-031215-Dragonlord.jpg

In 2008, Liam Neeson rebranded himself as an action star with Taken. While his filmography had always been diverse, people sparked to the veteran actor shooting and punching his way through mid-range actioners. Neeson has continued to take a variety of roles, but it looks like he

I like Neeson in action movies but they've only been a short period of his career, before Taken he was primarily known as a dramatic actor. The guy who did movies like Schindler's List, Michael Collins, Rob Roy and so on is still in there.

Hotel-Transylvania-2-031215-Dragonlord.jpg

Colombia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation have released the first Hotel Transylvania 2 trailer for director Genndy Tartakovsky’s animated sequel. Adam Sandler returns as the voice of Drac for the animated sequel, which is once again directed by Genndy Tartakovsky. Also back are most of the “Drac Pack,” including Steve Buscemi as werewolf Wayne, Kevin James as Frankenstein, David Spade as invisible man Griffin, Selena Gomez as Drac’s daughter Mavis, and Andy Samberg as her human beau Jonathan. New cast members include Keegan-Michael Key, who replaces Cee-Lo Green as Murray the Mummy, and Mel Brooks as Drac’s dad Vlad. Hotel Transylvania 2 opens doors on September 25, 2015.

Synopsis: The Drac pack is back for an all-new monster comedy adventure in Sony Pictures Animation’s Hotel Transylvania 2! Everything seems to be changing for the better at Hotel Transylvania… Dracula’s rigid monster-only hotel policy has finally relaxed, opening up its doors to human guests. But behind closed coffins, Drac is worried that his adorable half-human, half-vampire grandson, Dennis, isn’t showing signs of being a vampire.

So while Mavis is busy visiting her human in-laws with Johnny – and in for a major cultural shock of her own – “Vampa” Drac enlists his friends Frank, Murray, Wayne and Griffin to put Dennis through a “monster-in-training” boot camp. But little do they know that Drac’s grumpy and very old, old, old school dad Vlad is about to pay a family visit to the hotel. And when Vlad finds out that his great-grandson is not a pure blood – and humans are now welcome at Hotel Transylvania – things are going to get batty!

Disney Officially Announced Sequel to FROZEN in the Works

Frozen-Fever-031215-Dragonlord.jpg

Disney officially announced plans to produce a sequel to Frozen. The company revealed plans during the Walt Disney Co.’s annual shareholders meeting on Thursday from San Francisco. John Lasseter, chief creative officer of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios, made the announcement with Disney chief Bob Iger, and Josh Gad, who voices the character of Olaf in Frozen.

The first film’s directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck are developing the project with producer Peter Del Vecho for Walt Disney Animation Studios, which took home the Oscar for animated feature for the film. A release date and production details are yet to be announced.

The sequel doesn’t come as much of a surprise, considering how the first film continues to be a major moneymaking force for Disney’s divisions since its release Nov. 22, 2013 — and helped reinvigorate Walt Disney Animation Studios.

In the meantime, check out the trailer for Frozen Fever, which will be in theaters March 13th, screening before Cinderella.

INSIDE OUT's Head of Story Becomes TOY STORY 4 Co-Director

2mevbjr.jpg

There’s a little over two years until the story of Woody and Buzz continues in Toy Story 4 and the film just got a major addition. Josh Cooley, the head of story on Inside Out, has been hired as John Lasseter‘s co-director on the film. It’s a move that makes sense considering Lasseter already wears about 50 hats at Disney.

The Toy Story 4 co-director news broke on the DisneyPixar Twitter. Cooley also spoke to Variety about the gig: "To be co-director on ‘Toy Story 4’ with John, who brought the ‘Toy Story’ characters to the screen 20 years ago, is a dream come true. When I first saw ‘Toy Story’ I was amazed by the groundbreaking computer-generated animation. But it was the strong storytelling that kept me coming back. ‘Toy Story 4’ will continue that tradition and I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of it!"

Cooley started Pixar as an intern working on Cars. He’s continued to move up the ranks, recently directing a short film that’ll be on the Inside Out Blu-ray and acting as head of story on that movie. He’s also done a super cool children’s book.

They always have 2 directors for animation movies. Is that because one of the directors is in charge of animation and the other in charge of the voices?

Good, I'm so sick of Neesons action film characters. They are all completely identical!!

Details about Deathstroke's Breakout Role in SUICIDE SQUAD

Joe-Manganiello-Deathstroke-031215-Dragonlord.jpg

Latino-Review's El Mayimbe promised three big Suicide Squad-related scoops this week and now he's delivered the second with a ton of new Deathstroke details. According to Mayimbe, instead of being a full-on supervillain with powers, Deathstroke will be a hired assassin working for Onslaught. He's said to be the breakout character and his introductory scene is described as absolutely "insane." Also, Deathstroke will come face-to-face with the Suicide Squad early on and basically take down the entire team single-handedly.

Deathstroke's costume is said to be very stealth-oriented and uses an actual U.S. military tactical outfit for the basis. Like his comic-counterpart, his weapons of choice will be a sword and several automatics. The iconic orange/black mask is there, but early concept art does reveal that he will have two eyes, at least initially.

As for casting, since the role is expected to be the breakout character, the studio has been particularly choosy. Following up on last night's vague casting details, Mayimbe adds a little more. Jason Clarke is out as he has a scheduling conflict and Joel Kinnaman initially tested for the role, but landed Rick Flagg instead.

Until very recently, Joe Manganiello also had a scheduling conflict, but according to the report, he may have just dropped out of Ryan Murphy's Scream Queens, freeing him up for Suicide Squad. Official casting news should be imminent, but as of right now, it seems like Deathstroke is Manganiello's role to lose.

Jared Leto's Joker Based Heavily on The Dark Knight Returns

Jared-Leto-Joker-031315-Dragonlord.jpg

Latino Review scoopster El Mayimbe reports on Instagram that the Joker in Suicide Squad will be based heavily on the Joker from Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns. This seems consistent with DC Cinematic Universe's vision of the Batman mythos as a whole, since everything we've seen of Ben Affleck's Batman so far seems to rely pretty heavily on Miller.

Mayimbe also reports that Leto's Joker will be slight, but fit, with bleached – not painted – skin and scars running over his body. There's also a lot of reference to the Joker's past crimes in the film, which include the murder of one of Batman's sidekicks.

Lastly, the reports that one of Batman's oldest enemies, the psychiatrist Hugo Strange, will be appearing in the movie. Strange, a little known villain from the comics who made a bigger splash in the Batman: Arkham City video game, will be shown serving as the Joker's psychiatrist. The report also mentions that there will be plenty of interplay between Joker and Harley Quinn for fans to look forward to.

Martin Scorsese To Direct Jamie Foxx in Mike Tyson Biopic

Martin-Scorsese-Jamie-Foxx-Dragonlord.jpg

In a surprise announcement, Oscar winner Jamie Foxx has revealed to New York’s Power 105 radio show The Breakfast Club (via Uproxx) that none other than legendary director Martin Scorsese will direct him as Mike Tyson for an upcoming Paramount biopic. Academy Award-nominated screenwriter Terence Winter, who worked with Scorsese on The Wolf of Wall Street and in creating HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire,” has penned the screenplay.

“I just went in with Paramount with Mike Tyson,” Foxx said. “So I’m going to do the Mike Tyson story. Listen, to be in the same room pitching Mike Tyson to Paramount, Mike Tyson is on one side, I’m on the other side and doing Mike Tyson at the same time. And Martin Scorsese at the helm. This will be the first boxing movie that Martin Scorsese has done since Raging Bull.”

Michael Jai White previously played Iron Mike in a 1995 HBO biopic titled “Tyson,” while Star Wars: The Force Awakens star John Boyega was chosen to lead a Spike Lee-directed HBO series “Da Brick” loosely based on Mike Tyson’s life in 2011, but the show never got off the ground.

Peter Dinklage and Nicola Peltz Join DEEP BLUE GOODBYE

Peter-Dinklage-Nicola-Peltz-Dragonlord.jpg

Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage and Transformers: Age of Extinction actress Nicola Peltz are in negotiations to join Christian Bale and Rosamund Pike in Deep Blue Goodbye, Fox's adaptation of the John D. MacDonald mystery-adventure books.

James Mangold is directing the project, which was at times operating under the title Travis McGee. McGee is the protagonist of the picture. He's a free-wheeling bachelor living on a house boat, acting as a self-proclaimed "salvage consultant." The script sees McGee, now reimagined as an Afghan war vet, on the trail of stolen sapphires, which leads to a sadistic torturer.

Dinklage will play a mathematician who made a fortune thanks to an app and ends up as McGee's sidekick. Peltz, in a potentially career breakthrough role, will play a woman who acts older than she is, knows more about the sapphires than she lets on, hires McGee to find them and ends up on the wrong side of the torturer. The movie is looking at a May start, shooting in Puerto Rico and Florida.
