First Trailers for Harmony Korine's SPRING BREAKERS

spring-breakers-james-franco-vanessa-hudgens-slice.jpg

The first domestic and international trailers for Harmony Korine's Spring Breakers are now online. The movie centers on a group of girls (played by Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson, and Rachel Korine) who go to disturbing lengths to keep their spring break going, and their journey becomes even stranger when they encounter unhinged drug dealer, Alien (James Franco). The trailer looks pretty nuts, as we see a barrage of footage in a short amount of time. The highlight is most definitely Franco’s character

Synopsis: Four college coeds find their Florida Spring Break taking an unexpectedly violent turn after falling in with a local gangster in this surreal black comedy from Harmonie Korine (Mister Lonely, Trash Humpers). Left broke and alone on campus as their classmates head to Florida for some fun in the sun, coeds Candy (Vanessa Hudgens), Brit (Ashley Benson) and Cotty (Rachel Korine) steal a car, rob a local diner with plastic guns, and head south with their devoutly religious girlfriend Faith (Selena Gomez) in tow.

But when the girls are thrown in jail following a police raid on a beach-front apartment, it looks like the party is over until wild-eyed drug dealer Alien (James Franco) inexplicably posts their bail. Sensing danger, Faith boards a bus bound for school as her three friends fall into a dangerous cycle of drugs and debauchery. Later, a scary run in with Alien's bitter rival prompts yet another of the girls to hightail it back to campus, leaving the remaining two to embrace their dangerous new lifestyle with reckless abandon.

Trailer for THE PLAYROOM Starring John Hawkes and Molly Parker

the-playroom-john-hawkes-slice.jpg

A trailer has been released for the dramedy The Playroom. The film takes place in the 1975, and centers on a group of kids seeing the drama created by their parents. The advertising is practically begging to get the movie some credibility by overloading on blurbs to the point where one of the quotes is along the lines of

First Trailer for EMPEROR Starring Tommy Lee Jones and Matthew Fox

tommy-lee-jones-emperor-slice.jpg

The first trailer for director Peter Webber’s historical drama Emperor has been released online. Based on a true story, the film takes place in the immediate aftermath of World War II and stars Matthew Fox as General Bonner Fellers, an expert in Japanese who is assigned to assist General Douglas MacArthur (Tommy Lee Jones) in investigating whether or not the beloved Japanese Emperor should be punished for war crimes.

The film looks a bit like A Few Good Men: WWII Edition, but doesn't necessarily mean that it’s a bad thing. The Fellers role gives Fox an opportunity to show some range, and Jones seems right at home as MacArthur. The film also stars Eriko Hatsune. Emperor is currently without a release date, but Roadside Attractions promises that it’s “coming soon.”

The first trailer for the dark comedy The Brass Teapot have been released online. Synopsis: John and Alice live in small-town America—20s, married, very much in love, and broke. Once voted “most likely to succeed,” Alice struggles to make ends meet while her friends enjoy the good life. Her husband John, neurotic and riddled with phobias, just wants to get the bills paid. But an accident leads them to a roadside antique shop where Alice is spontaneously drawn to a mysterious brass teapot. It isn’t long before they realize that this is no ordinary teapot and that perhaps they have found the answer to all of their financial woes… THE BRASS TEAPOT is a magical dark comedy that reminds us to be careful what we wish for.

Mark Wahlberg Confirms TED 2 Script Is in Development

Ted-Wahlberg-0117-Dragonlord.jpg

Since Seth MacFarlane is hosting this year’s Oscars, it’s not much of a surprise that his Ted co-star Mark Wahlberg will be making an appearance alongside the foul-mouthed teddy bear. Ted was one of the biggest hits of 2012, and it would almost be a letdown to not see the duo show up in some capacity. Wahlberg confirmed the appearance on the talk show Anderson Live.

This year’s ceremony is shaping up to be pretty entertaining with MacFarlane as the host. Wahlberg also confirmed that writing is underway on the script for Ted 2. In a recent interview, Wahlberg says he plans to shoot Transformers 4 and then move on to Ted 2.

Liam Neeson Confirmed to Star in Action Thriller RUN ALL NIGHT

Liam-Neeson-0117-Dragonlord.jpg

Back in November, it was reported that Liam Neeson was in talks to star in the Warner Bros. thriller The All Nighter (a.k.a. Run All Night). According to Deadline, the title has reverted to Run All Night and Neeson is confirmed to star. Neeson will play an aging hitman who, in order to protect his wife and son, must take on his former boss in a single night. He then finds himself on the run from the mob and authorities with his estranged son in tow.

Although Run All Night comes from a spec script by Brad Ingelsby, it sounds slightly similar to the excellent 2011 French thriller Sleepless Night, which centers on a man who must spend a night avoiding the mob and cops as he tries to rescue his son (Warner Bros. owns the English-language remake rights for Sleepless Night).

Deadline also reports that Jaume Collet-Serra might sign on to direct. Collet-Serra previously directed Neeson in Unknown and the upcoming airline thriller Non-Stop, which sees Neeson playing an Air Marshal trying to protect a plane that
