New Trailer for Joss Whedon’s MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING

The trailer for Joss Whedon‘s Much Ado about Nothing has been released. The microbudgeted film was shot in 12 days in secret under his Bellwether Pictures banner while Whedon was working on Marvel‘s The Avengers. For those unfamiliar with William Shakespeare‘s play, it follows the trick to bring the bickering Beatrice (Amy Acker) and Benedict (Alexis Denisof) together, and the deception to tear apart the enamored Claudio (Fran Kranz) and Hero (Jillian Morgese) apart. This trailer makes the film look a little more intense, but it’s understandable when trying to sell Shakespeare to a modern audience. The film also stars Clark Gregg, Tom Lenk, Ashley Johnson, Reed Diamond, Riki Lindhome, Sean Maher, and Nathan Fillion. Much Ado about Nothing opens in limited release on June 7th.

Synopsis: Leonato, the governor of Messina, is visited by his friend Don Pedro who is returning from a victorious campaign against his rebellious brother Don John. Accompanying Don Pedro are two of his officers: Benedick and Claudio. While in Messina, Claudio falls for Leonato’s daughter Hero, while Benedick verbally spars with Beatrice, the governor’s niece. The budding love between Claudio and Hero prompts Don Pedro to arrange with Leonato for a marriage.

In the days leading up to the ceremony, Don Pedro, with the help of Leonato, Claudio and Hero, attempts to sport with Benedick and Beatrice in an effort to trick the two into falling in love. Meanwhile, the villainous Don John, with the help of his allies: Conrade and Borachio, plots against the happy couple, using his own form of trickery to try to destroy the marriage before it begins.

STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS to Open in UK on May 9th

While J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek Into Darkness is one of the year’s most anticipated films, U.K. fans will now get to experience the sequel one week earlier. It was revealed earlier today that Star Trek Into Darkness will now open in the U.K. on May 9th, while the May 17th debut date in the States appears to be locked in. The May 9th opening date will see the film in IMAX 3D, 3D and 2D theaters; Star Trek Into Darkness will bow in U.S. IMAX theaters starting May 15th.

News of the U.K. release date comes courtesy of one Mr. Simon Pegg: "Looks like Star Trek Into Darkness will land in the UK first. Release date May 9th. That’s about 8 weeks away. Not long considering."

There’s no word yet on if the U.S. date will shift to match, but considering fans have already purchased tickets for the IMAX opening on May 15th through the Star Trek app, it’s likely the current dates will stick.

New Behind-the-Scenes Featurette for FAST & FURIOUS 6

A new featurette for Universal’s Fast & Furious 6 has gone online today. The three minute video consists of the cast talking about their experiences with the film, the stunts, and their co-stars. The featurette also showcases snippets of behind the scenes footage and various action moments already seen in the film’s trailer, including the impressive sequence of Dwayne Johnson, Vin Diesel, and company pulling down a commercial sized airliner with only a cable and four wheels.

With a large and genial cast (including a lot of returning stars), impressive set pieces, and a prime summer release date, director Justin Lin looks to be delivering a worthy addition to a sometimes tired franchise. The film also stars Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, Joe Taslim, and Luke Evans. Fast & Furious 6 opens May 24th.

First Teaser Trailer for THE BLING RING Starring Emma Watson

After Harry Potter's grand finale sent her on an international press tour in 2011, Emma Watson took tentative steps away from the bookish and determined wizard role that made her a star. In last year's Perks of Being a Wallflower, she played drunk and let the wind rush through her hair to a David Bowie song. And now, she's going all out wild child.

Behold the first trailer for her next project, the Sofia Coppola-directed The Bling Ring. Based on a true story, the film casts Watson as a party girl with a penchant for stealing from the rich -- but stopping short of the full Robin Hood story -- and spending the cash on drinks, drugs and clothing.

The actual Bling Ring consisted of a number of young women that stole $3 million between 2008-2009, from the likes of Paris Hilton (who has a part in the film); Lindsay Lohan, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr. The film is based on an article in Vanity Fair.

The teaser is low on dialogue but cranks up the dance music and sounds of youthful abandon. The picture also stars Taissa Farmiga (American Horror Story), Israel Broussard (Flipped), Katie Chang, Claire Julien and Leslie Mann.

Kevin Smith Started Writing CLERKS III at 4:20 this Morning

Last month, filmmaker Kevin Smith was quoted as saying he wanted to do Clerks III as a book first, telling a story in episodic chapters that would come before the sequel. Today, Smith is moving forward with plans to make Clerks III his finale movie. He posted on his Facebook page that he has started writing the third film:

"THE BEGINNING OF THE END
20 years ago today, we started shooting CLERKS.
20 years later, with no plan or provocation, I jumped out of bed at 4:20 this morning and started writing CLERKS III.
It's been like hanging out with old friends.
And after 2 hours of tapping the keys and giggling, I have come to a conclusion...
CLERKS III will be the best film I'll ever make."

Jeff Anderson and Brian O'Halloran played Randal Graves and Dante Hicks, respectively, in the original 1994 Clerks. A pair of young slackers working minimum wage customer service jobs, they reprised their roles for a short-lived animated series and then returned to the big screen in 2006's Clerks II.
