Rampage was often accused of this. Tito had his fair share of it too. Fedor has it leveled at him from time to time for playing games with the hearts of his fans regarding the UFC. Bones caught shit for it too when he pulled from UFC-151. Dana accused Anderson Silva of being "an artist", which is along the same lines.

But has anyone been a bigger prima donna than Conor, acting too big to do something even Ali, Tyson and Mayweather understood was part of the obligation to promote a fight? As far as I'm aware, even Ronda, at the height of her power as she was trying to balance twin careers in MMA and Hollywood, never acted too big to meet those obligations.

So is Prima Conna the most princess-like of them all?

Ali, Tyson, and Mayweather always put their training first. They coordinated the press around their training, not the other way around. Conor needs to actually add to his skill set in order to beat Nate in a rematch, which requires focused training. Asking him to go on a press tour three months before the fight is a little ridiculous. Nobody ever made such demands on Ali, Tyson, and Mayweather. And none of the people you mentioned came back to avenge a loss in such a short period of time.

It's weird that someone like Conor would go against media obligations. He LOVES talking .. wasn't he known for being a talker?

Diaz broke him

Yeah the guy that whooped Holloway with 1 knee, fought Mendes with same busted knee one 2 weeks notice, chose Diaz over Faber on 10 days notice and fought 2 weight classes up 3 months after KO'ing aldo in one punch @ 145 is the prima donna. Conor is probably as far away from a prima donna as you can possibly get. The dude would fight the Ebola virus if the number was right. GSP is more like a prima donna, always had to 100%, wouldn't take risky fights etc. Conor is a throw back to the days of old when bare knucklers would fight anyone anywhere.

Asking for your worth does not equate to a prima donna. In fact, it is the opposite. A real man isn't afraid to stand up to tyranny. A prima donna would just complain and pull out when they got a sore foot.

Solid response.
