hi, ive been a big Fan of MMA over the past year, i watched many fight, inlcuding old fights from a decade ago, ive seen alot of highlights.

I am undecided on what is the best fighting style. i want to start some form of MMa training. i was thinking along the lines or mayb BJJ or Kikboxing?

Can you please give me your opionions and the reasoning behind them?

Thanks

Wrong forum .I'd suggest trying either the stand up or grappling forums. And before you ask in there I'd read stickies(just to check its not a FAQ)/use search function.

Muay Thai and either Sambo or BJJ, MT is the best stand up art going (just ask Rich Franklin) the other two are great grappling arts, but this is still the wrong forum.

haha did he wake up yet?
there was an interview in the beatdown (sherdog radio show) the other day, he was talking about how badly it got broken and what they had to do to fix it. Sounded really bad, he could'nt breathe through his nose for several days, guess I've been lucky with the severity of the breaks I've had so far.

Da wrong forum hommes yo ...

But it was a non gay question so no bear for you.

A combination of a good mma gym where you learn to put together the pieces in a comprehensive system from day 1 in combination with good quality sparing with good practitioners of bjj, the solid takedown arts (greco, freestyle, sambo, judo) and with good strikers from boxing and muay thai. That is a combination that I heavily believe in, have the mma school as your base and search out further training in the area you need most work, or at periods to build on what you are really good at.

The BEST fighting style is not always the best style for you. Unless you're really dedicated, you'll quickly find out that sometimes it's really hard to stick with a style that is really effective for MMA but really boring for you. Everybody is different and has different abilities. Also, if you've been watching MMA for over the past year, you should know that you really can't compare BJJ vs. Kickboxing in terms of best fighting style.
That being said, take BJJ AND kickboxing. And squatting.
