Do you think the popularity of MMA is going to cause mc dojo's to pop up everywhere now promoting their brand of 'MMA'? Around my area, there are THREE schools that just popped up; and right now im training at one but second guessing what im being taught. (i posted last week about trusting my teachers certificates). So heres another question - in these mma schools that are promoting ground fighting, is it normal to recieve promotion tests or certificates or something saying 'you know at least this much' in case you want to train else where? or is it expected you learn what they show you and it's only good there?

Yes it propably will pop up more mma mc-dojos.

Lineage, how the instructor has done in competition and how the students do in competition are things to check out. Unless its whery cheap then you should just shut up and train until you find a better place;)

...Uhm you dont need a certificate, as you get better that will show in groundsparring at the new school to, unless you do bjj there arent belts in mma. Everything falls into place where you are in sparring and competition.

oh course there is because there's so many generations now of people taking BJJ, since they didn't learn from someone who learned from a gracie or machado it's not as significant to them. But they do know it and may want to open a place for some cash, yet did they realize they can be making a lot of cash by a mcdojo even though it's wrong.

In my neck of the woods, the Serra BJJ school is going strong, and a Gracie BJJ academy closed after just 1 year, which I found surprising.

yeah i thought there was no mma clubs in my country but i found 2 in my town and 1 is very well known and respected
