MMA media needs to ask Conor McGregor about sexual assault investigations

Check out the article @MIKOM posted above. It's about the process for sexual assault cases in Ireland and how it can be two years between the crime and a trial. In Conor's case, it's only been a year AND there is a second case. If they want to bring charges in the second case, prosecutors may want to try them together which would presumably cause further delays.
again, you seem to like to fill in pieces that fit your own narrative. nowhere does it say it takes 2 years for charges to be filed and nowhere does it say they would delay charges on potentially dangerous criminals to link multiple cases together up front.

“If you were raped last week and you went and reported it this week to the police you could expect that depending on a few factors the investigation would be completed within a couple of months,” explained Blackwell. “Then it would go to the DPP [Director of Public Prosecution] and if a prosecution was proceeding you would be told about that within another month or six weeks.”

But she said in its experience a person might then wait two or three years before the case reaches the court – and there may be adjournments when it does go to trial, which would also lengthen the time.
***************
A spokesperson for the courts service said that the average waiting times for rape and murder trials before the central criminal court stands at 11 months, from the time they are received by the court to the trial date.

There is no way I could ever say that "hand on heart" without a court conviction.............. but you go right ahead.
I explained how that part is my opinion and why I think that but feel free to take it all out of context and ignore relevant posts

Yeah, that's basically the gist of the other article. We wouldn't know if Conor has been notified that he will be facing prosecution. it could well be under way for all we know. The actual trial might not happen for another year or so

you're making shit up yet again.

Charging the Accused
When a decision is made to take a prosecution, the Gardaí charge the suspect. The Gardaí bring the suspect before a District Court judge. From this point on, the suspect is known as ‘the accused’ or ‘the defendant’.

The Gardaí tell the victim that the accused has been charged. The Gardaí should also tell the victim the time, date and place of the court hearing.

What happens after the Gardaí charge the accused?
Once the Gardaí have charged the accused, the prosecution will write down the evidence against the accused. The document that contains the evidence is called the book of evidence and is an important part of the case.

  • It includes statements from witnesses, including the victim.
  • It includes other documents and a list of any physical evidence, such as photographs or weapons, that will appear in court.
  • It sets out the evidence that the prosecution thinks witnesses will give in court.
When the prosecution has gathered all the evidence they need for the trial, the Gardaí will give the book of evidence to the accused. Once this happens, the District Court judge will set a date for the trial and, in most cases, decide which court will hear the case. Sometimes, the DPP will decide which court will hear the case.
