MMA in Cuba...

If Cuba ever got to be fully unleashed onto the MMA and Boxing worlds it would be a sight to see. We're talking about a country of only 11m that have very little resources yet maintain elite status on an Olympic level in boxing, Freestyle wrestling, Greco Roman and Judo. The sheer amount of athletic combatant talent and potential is pretty insane.

Very true. From what I've seen, this organization is remaining pretty active getting guys into MMA events, and they have more guys they're trying to bring over from Cuba, JKB students of theirs. Some appear in the above videos.

I've been training in this for 2 months, and 2 of the instructors at the place I'm at are in the above exhibition training video and they seem confident they will be able to bring a lot more guys over. I hope they manage to find success in the MMA world here.

There was a recent local event (Action FIght League Invincible 2023) that happened, and the first fight had a JKB guy, Rudisel Mora, who unfortunately had an injury in the first round but finished the fight (according to the founder Carlos Finales who also directly coaches the MMA fighters). The event was headlined by Hector Lombard actually, obviously another Cuban fighter of note.

Nevermind, just found the results and apparently there was a last minute replacement for Lombard. Diego Brandao was on the card though, I suppose he's pretty known though...not the winningest
