Many fans (users) seem to believe that fighters are too much of a "celebrity" and have too much time on their hands to look at MMA forums. That isnt the case.
I know many wont care about this and that's cool. I am just sharing for those who are interested to know. Fighters do look at these forums. Dennis Bermudez is one of them. I am an old friend of his, have been since I have known him from high school. We were old sparring partners way back before he became pro in Saugerties NY. We still do keep in touch from time to time when he is in town.
In convo he's told me that he, along with many others do in fact look at MMA forums specifically Sherdog just as they do with Twitter, Facebook etc. and fans thinking that they dont care what us fans say/think is silly. Of course fighters are interested in seeing what fans say about them and the product in general.
Reason I bring this up is I see far to often a poster that says "you actually think fighters read what you say on Sherdog?"
According to Dennis Sherdog is actually his camps favorite outlet to look at the latest "fan gossip" in MMA due to its easy navigation. He has name dropped by telling me Frankie Edgar does as well. Chael Sonnen has said on his podcast "You're Welcome" that he checks out the MMA forums and personally enjoys the trolling some fans do the most.
Lastly even Ariel Helwani (well known MMA journalist) not only looks at forums but is a member on Sherdog. I do not have a clue what his user name could be or have an idea how often he logs on.
I think that its cool to know fighters are so involved, hopefully others here will as well.
