MMA Culture is sided with Companies, and against MMA fighters wanting better Pay

Hope fighters get every dollar the can...once they sign a contract they should honor it.

Guess I made a mistake in using a buzzword to begin my argument, as that's clearly the only part you read, or at the least the only part you felt you have an argument against.

Your entire argument hinges on your incorrect assumption that the UFC is the only game in town. You think since there's no other options, guys are forced to sign with the UFC, even if it's less than they think they're worth.

Your argument sucks because they do have other options, they can sign with other organizations--thing is, they don't because the UFC provides them with better pay and more opportunities, as a whole.

Yeah, you made a mistake, alright.

Two of those were world title fights and the last one wasn't originally planned to be on the main card. Weird that you refer to them as no names. Another person who uses boxing as an example but probably doesn't actually follow it.

They are no names, regardless if they are champs.

Nobody knows about those guys.

Trust me more people know about Nick Diaz and any Co Main Eventer/Main Eventer in the UFC yet they make less than those no names.

ah the Slave mentality Generation.

You would fit perfectly as slave in the roman times or in the south during the 1800's.:icon_chee

Lol @ the socialist saying non-socialists have a slave mentality about them. Oh, that's rich!

Im a socialist now for saying fighters are getting paid too little? lol....that political propaganda is working real nice....The Democrats/Republicans/MSNBC/Foxnews are doing a hella of a job.

Sorry but a lot of people have slave mentalities....has nothing to do with your little propaganda rhetoric you are spreading.

I can explain the Market for you:
Zuffa is a company that owns a fight organization that is supported by investors. They pay their contractors, fighters, based off production and pre-agreed contracts involving base pay and flexible room for bonuses.

That's the model. People don't like it, but it works. I wish fighters got paid more. I wish I got paid more. I wish my parents got paid more. I wish I got paid for sitting here talking to you scoundrels. That's not what's happening though.

It's up to the contractors.

And people for some reason also like to think that this is somehow unique to the UFC and Zuffa. It isn't.

I only have enough time in a day to be vocal about my disdain for a few injustices and I chose mma.

Please cry about it some more though, your corporate fanboy tears are delicious (posted from my sweet galaxy s4 btw. You probably can't afford one)

SO what are you crying about then?

UFC made Nick Diaz a millionare they paid him 7 figures for his fight with GSP. As for Nate he's not a champion, he's not a former champion yet he is in the top 5% of income earners in the US after fighting 1 fight a year.

We aren't talking about people working 40 hours a week but still have to take food stamps to feed their kids.We are talking about an entitled brat who makes more than 95% of the population but is upset because his friend and brother make more.

I've actually heard that paying people more for anything that isn't a simple mechanical task can actually hinder their performance as, like Dana said, they become too preoccupied with earning the money instead of doing a good job. With some thing like athletics where most of the participants start out intrinsically motivated to compete higher pay can actually dull that intrinsic motivation.

That said I don't agree with Dana. This same argument also applies to his job and I doubt he's taking home a modest middle class income.

LMFAO.

Whats the excuse for the PPV's that sold 300k-1 million and did millions at the gate?......UFC events are pretty succesful and generally always sell out.

So one time, the stadium not selling is not a huge deal like you try to make it seem.

It is widely known that headlining fighters get a cut of the revenue from an event. Like many have said before GSP has been paid between 4-5 million a fight by the UFC for some time. Anderson similar money as well as lesnar. Nick Diaz, Ronda Rousey, Chris Weidman, Jon Jones, Lyoto Machida, Shogun Rua, Rampage Jackson, Tito Ortiz, Chuck Liddell, Randy Couture, Cain Velasquez, JDS just to name a few have all seen 7 figure paychecks for a single fight.
