MLB Off-season Thread: The Soto Sweepstakes (anywhere but the Dodgers)

If he proves to be what people claim, he’s going to get paid regardless. Hell, Ohtani never even sniffed the post season at the Angels.

Rays are playing at Steinbrenner because the trop was destroyed by hurricane Milton and the St Pete city council declined a 25 million dollar bill proposal to fix the roof since they already approved the new stadium for 2028 and a lot of ppl in that area need relief money from the damage the last 2 hurricanes did.

I think they just killed the new stadium.

I read or heard they don't want to be playing without a roof because it gets super hot there during the season. I initially thought it was weird they couldn't fix the field for 2025, but I read the insides took damage after the roof broke.
I drove by it the other week, it’s destroyed and the city just declined a 25 million dollar proposal to fix it. The roof is completely gone and there’s been more inclinatecweather since, so I’d imagine the inside is destroyed now as well.

Welp now that Snell is going to the Dodgers they probably won't be signing Sasaki

Not sure what the Cubs will plan on doing this Off-season. In true Epstein and Hoyer fashion they'll probably stick to mid tier FAs.

After so many years of pissing away money on big contracts with very little to show for it during the Hendry era, I'm okay with it. Obviously Theo knew what he was doing by growing the farm and making smart thrifty signings before they won in 2016.

If MLB had a hard cap like the NFL it would be roughly $181 million for 2025.

Roki's probably jealous of Shohei and Yoshinobu WS title and wants in on that. What young player wouldn't want to be under Shohei's wing and also learn some from Yoshinobu?

So Edman at SS or CF, Mookie at 2B. Is Pages ready for starting spot? Is Teoscar coming back? I guess Outman is out due to shit batting avg.
