What technical flaws do you think Khan has? What mistakes does he make when he fights?

He leaves himself in position too long after throwing his combos. Perfect for a counter puncher like Canelo. He doesn't keep his shoulder up or move his head off line when he throws the jab which is why Canelo was able to land the killer overhand to finish. That shot has been landed on Khan before. And the strategy for the fight was throw 1-2s not long combos but Khan couldn't help himself and still threw 4 punch combos against Canelo.

He got complacent again, circled to Canelo's right, exposing himself and gaped open his guard, and Canelo smoothly and precisely penetrated the soft flesh. He received all of it inside.

This pretty much sums it up. Same way he got KO'd by Garcia. He threw some 4 punch flurry to the body and left his head totally exposed.

exposed = gaped

people are underestimating Canelo here, he threw a feint with his left hand and Khan reacted, and then he came over with the right hand, Khan was already anticipating the left jab, and while he did leave himself wide open, he has never really had the best defense

the ancient one presents himself.

That's pretty much what I saw as well

People are looking too much into Khan's flaws, Canelo is becoming more and more clever, if anything, he should have taken Khan out earlier

He overreacted big time to the jab feint - both arms or, head up and exposed. He tries to out box opponents who are bigger or stronger, but he doesn't have the defensive/evasive skills to do that against someone as good as Alvarez for more than a few rounds.

Have to agree, he gets sloppy but his speed makes up for it at times.
I still wonder what you think you're proving with that sig. I'd like to be offended by it but I can't see an angle.

I'm considering using "I still wonder what you think you're proving with that sig. - Seano" as my next sig.

While Khan does have his downfalls technically, let's give some credit to Canelo.

He was setting that punch up for at least two rds, going to the body. Khan was expecting another body shot which is why he dropped his hands.

Maybe his body health bar was blinking red already and thats why he dropped his hands.

I think triple G would've taken out Kahn within 3 rounds. Once khan felt that jab it would be reckless abandon or should I saw glass chin abandon.

I really hope canelo and ggg fight this year. I would go to vegas for that fight. Hope Roman is on the undercard too!

Canelo was very smart in ripping the body. You could see Khan visibly taking longer to shift back out of range like he was doing in the first 3-4 rounds...

Yeah, Khan has always pulled up when he throws his combos too. Stands up very straight and doesn't tuck his chin. One of my frustrations though is his footwork. He gets his footwork all messed, especially when throwing his right hand. Often brings it up, which puts him in bad positions, leaves him in this faux southpaw thing and squares him up badly. Victor Ortiz does it even worse, but Victor doesn't seem to know whether he wants to be a righty or lefty. Just basic footwork issues that should have long been fixed by now.

He also overreaches with most of his combinations. It's why he's so easy to catch cleanly on the counter. He lunges in, standing up too straight, bringing his back foot forward, all while throwing these frantic, wild (but fast) combinations. He needs to learn to chill the hell out, throw his combo's while keeping his feet underneath himself for balance and not running forward into in some wild offensive rush.

Needs to work on finding his range with his jab better, so that he doesn't need to do his little wild runs forward throwing ten punches, and can get off combos without having to rush forward off balance and squared up. He's got a good jab, but uses it very poorly.

Basically, he's got good physical talent, but lacks some fundamentals and has shocking fight IQ for a supposedly world class champion.

^ Good points. Yeah his ability to work at the edge of his range is poor, he still has the amateur habit of leaping in and out rather than just fading back a little and staying close enough for the counter. He has good length but doesn't really use it to his advantage nearly enough. As you say he needs to use his jab better.
