I been boxing for a little while now and possibly has a fight coming up. I want to be as sharp as I can and get as much training in as I can.I'm looking for drills to do at home. I asked my trainer and he gave me a decent head movement drill, but any other drills I can do in the mirror for boxing?

Don't regard this a drill but what I do is use myself as a frame and try to connect with my reflection and get back to my defence as quickly as possible. I work in a clothing department at a supermarket, so I actually do this at work in the disabled fitting room when no-one is around for the last couple hours of my shift. Why the disabled fitting room? Because it's spacious.

You should never shadowbox without a mirror, because you can't observe yourself.

So if you aren't already, do more detailed shadowboxing. This is something I myself should be doing more, you can really visualize both your opponent and how your opponent sees you throw the mirror.

- Throw your techniques and freeze frame them. Check out your stance, how your feet are, how your hands are, etc. etc. - many times you'll catch yourself doing things improper this way.

- Throw and just observe yourself. Observe your technique and how you move. Are there openings you unnecessarily leave? Just tighten up that technique from what you see in the mirror

Your pre and post fight pose. I always neglected that, and all my pictures ended up looking ridiculous. You don't want to wing it, then panic when the time actually comes.

Here's one thing I advise about mirror-use. Face the mirror. One of the things I can't stand is guys who don't look where they're punching, and stand looking sideways over their shoulder at the mirror. I used to do this, until I realized it forms a bad habit of turning the head. Eyes forward, throw at your own openings, if you see any.

Funny stuff. This is why I just stand there and stare off into space like a lunatic, both pre and post-fight/sparring. It's a pose you can't fuck up.

I do 3 things

1-Practice the bob and weave, head mouvement
2-lateral, front to back mouvement
3-Pivoting

don't forget to check yourself out whilst flexing then kiss both biceps. perfect way to round off any good workout.
