Arthur Abraham will make his U.S. debut against former opponent Edison Miranda. This fight will be at 166 lbs. limit (meaning IBF title not on the line). Thoughts?

Despite his jaw being broken, I thought Abraham deserved the decision. He landed the more accurate shots, peppered Miranda with left hooks, and I saw Miranda retreat to the ropes and hurt quite a few times. And there was a lot of fouls in that fight.

that fight boggles my mind. How many points taken away does it take to get you DQ'd?

Should be a great fight. Hopefully they get a good ref for this fight. I still see Abraham winning by UD or late stoppage.

unless Miranda breaks his jaw again and KOs him, i don't see him winning. Like Cintron, he hasn't gotten any better in terms of technique. He's too one-dimensional. But he does have the ferocity and mean streak that gives him a decent chance but i'm disappointed in his lack of progress.

Miranda calls out Kessler and Bute and lands a fight with Abraham.

Either way, you can't go wrong with any of those match ups.

It had been mentioned on this forum about two weeks ago, but I was really hoping for a Miranda/Andrade match up.

Froch v Inkin and then Miranda v Abraham.
Some nice super middle & middle weight match ups in the summer.

Any news on what Kessler is up to? Recovering from injury? Chasing down an elusive opponent?

He turned down the Miranda fight (which could have given him some more exposure in the States) I assume he turned it down for something.

Where is this fight? Germany? If so, Miranda should just take the "L" now and not waste the trip.

Giovanni Lorenzo should be getting this fight, he has been whining about a title shot for years, maybe he is getting step aside money. Not that he is deserving of the #1 contender ranking.

I guess no one reads the post. It's also a non-title 166 lbs. catch weight fight.

Why the catch weight?

no decision this time imo. somebody's going down, since both are wide open while going in.
but then again: who thought the first one was going to go to the score cards?

The first shouldn't have. That would have been a TKO anywhere else in the world.

i heard both can't or don't want to cut to 160 and abraham probably didn't want to go up in weight too much. second part is just a guess.

If I'd thought about it, I would have remembered its Miranda who has trouble making 160.

sure. but after witnessing that fight i now still wonder how both of them survived all 12 rounds. the jaw was broken badly (and the fight should have been stopped), but Abraham wasn't ko'd and miranda neither and that is what i find unbelievable.
two heavy hitters. clean shots. still no ko
