I think The Barbarians was greater for he copped a flogging for 12 mins and switched to Terminator mode to win.

Mirs sub was incredible, and it being on Big Nog made it more impressive. However it lacks the 'comeback' element to win. Sure he was rocked, but Boetch came from a further depth.IMO

I beg to differ though, since submission of the year should be a rare submission, not usually seen, made in an amazing fashion.

Sure, Kimura's are cool and all. And the person he submitted has never been submitted before, and that he broke his arm doing it, while Mir himself was rocked. I can understand why you think it should be sub of the year, I feel however, that charles oliviera's calf slicer is way more deservant of that title
 
It was better then okami/boetsch

Mir was absolutely done and comes back and subs nog.
 
Just saw Bisping beat Gustafsson for international fighter of the year... I'm fucking speechless.
 
Okami/Boetsch got robbed. If I remember right, round one of their fight was damn near a 10-8 for Okami and round two was a 10-9 for Okami. Boetsch came out guns blazing i the third round and knocked him out.

Nothing that I saw in 2012 was better.
 
Those MMA awards are wack. It's UFC nuthuggery to the max.

Okami/Tim(meh) should have won on the sole basis that Joe completely lost his fucking mind when Boetsch came back. :cool:

The Boetch comeback was nice but he wasn't close to being finished at any point in that fight. Mir was basically almost done and came back and snapped Nog's arm. Its not even close.
 
I'd have gone with Kongo/Barry cuz Kongo was straight done like 2 or 3 times before the uppercut from hell but whatever both were good comebacks Mir/Nog just are bigger names.

does not make it so. Mir/Nog was way more impressive than Boetsch/Okami because of how Mir did it. He submitted one of the greatest MMA submission artists of all time while rocked as hell. Boetsch knocked out a guy with average striking after losing a couple rounds

I get your biased towards Nog but let's not act like 2012 Nog > 2012 Okami. Okami is by far the superior fighter so don't discount what Boetsch did.
