"It's damn close to time for an interim title match. He's a talented kid, but he hasn't fought. He's over there signing some big endorsement deals and he hasn't defended. He's making money and hasn't even defended the title. That's going to give him even less incentive to come back and fight. I don't feel confident that he'll fight by the end of the year. If he doesn't, I think there should be an interim."

Some scuttle that Pettis/Melendez (assuming Pettis stays in one piece) will take place on December 6 (181, which was originally linked to Montreal, but instead will be in Vegas) as opposed to the end of year event (182 also in Vegas).

Miller should realize that fighting would get in the way of Pettis getting haircuts that look like lobotomy scars and taking selfies.

We've only seen Pettis fight like 4 or 5 times in the ufc I'm already done with him being champ
Seriously he can go to another org I wanna see the champions fight

Says the guy who has never won the title
When you win your big fights, you don't have to scrape your way to fame. I like Miller and I don't like shitting on him like that, but it's the truth bruh. Anthony is just a better martial artist than you are, which is why he's recognized and paid as such.

Well it's true. I'm sick of Pettis never fighting. Since the beginning of 2011, when the UFC took on WEC fighters he had 5 fights...

He's young, exciting, & one of the best. I want to see more fights. You can't be champ & fight once a year especially at 27 years old & at LW.

No one denies that Pettis is talented; he's the best. And thats why we want to see him fight, not coach a season of TUF that no one will watch. It feels like forever since the last time I saw Pettis fight.

Plus it's really not fair to guys like Khabib or Thomson who will have to fight more than necessarry to earn a title shot because Pettis is holding everyone up.

there should be more pressure on champs to fight then contenders. if it was up to me, the belt would be striped from any champ who doesn't fight atleast once every 9 months regardless of injury. they could just fight for the belt when they are healed up and back if they are out for that long.

I agree and it seems like Miller is advocating an interim title fight just so that he can potentially be in the mix. He should know that Pettis isn't fighting in 2014 but I'm sure this was just a way for him to make it sound like it's reasonable for there to be an interim title setup this year meanwhile Pettis is defending in January..

Seems like he wants to get paid like an elite fighter but wants to write the cheques with his mouth and not his skills. He needs to win the big fights if he wants to get that recognition.

I think beating Bendo twice for the belt should count as defending the belt. Miller never seemed like much of a talker. He should go back to that.
