My sister hurt her wrist in the air force. Very minor and temporary. She is getting 1k tax free for life. Her boyfriend hurt his shoulder while working on planes. He's also getting 1k for life. My brother in law hurt his elbow as a mechanic in the army. He is getting disability for life, don't know how much. My nephew hurt his knee in the air force. He's getting disability for life. These are all the people I know closely that were in the military. My sister and her boyfriend admitted that their "injuries" are bullshit and have went away. She said they even paid her for pimples she had that didn't have when she signed up. They are handing out money like it's water. If these "injuries" happened in the private sector, they probably wouldn't even qualify for worker's comp.

Yes, I think it's a huge deal that no one will talk about because its veterans. My buddy, retired airforce has a 70% disability, perfectly fine, goes to the gym every day etc etc. Get a nice fat check every month and DV plates. I talked to him about it and he basically told me that coming out of basic is an automatic 50% disability. If you deployed to the ME and came anywhere near conflict you can add on another 20% easy from PTSD or breathing issues that are non-existent. He was SF (security forces) so he never even saw combat just had a few mortars hit close to the base.

Government spending is delusional and dangerous right now. Cops retiring with 80k retirements after 25 years is ridiculous.. Especially because half of them are crooked and taking side cash for favors. Failed political and corporate class wants loyal soldiers, and they will steal your money and give it to people to get it.

Encourage your union(s) to expand like they are supposed to. It's not supposed to be everybody, but it's supposed to be more.

Being disabled for being a solider is very different than being disabled for being an accountant

And at the same time creating the hegemony that allows you the quality of life you currently enjoy. Strange how that works, eh?

The issue is that they aren't disabled but gaming the system. Its widespread. If you live in a military city you'd realize something was up by the number of DV plates you pass every day or see in front of a golds gym.

Coming out of basic is an automatic 50%. Most veterans go for the 70% rate as that is when you get DV plates.

History has shown, that for the last 100 years, our military has enabled America to establish its hegemony across the globe.

You think we are throwing money down the drain. Okay. Think about where America would be without its military. You seem to lack the historical references and context neccessary to understand that where we are today is a product of America's military dominance.

Everytime we have this conversation I always wonder which Marine boned your highschool girlfriend to cause such animosity.

If you cut the military budget by half my life
    Wouldn’t change one iota.

In our society, lots of people have grown up as dependents and have been surrounded by so many of the same mentality that they no longer have any qualms about playing the system to get paid. It used to be something you'd shame someone over, now its practically a career option. You think this free shit push over the past few years is something natural? The government has worked really hard to make people dependent and its worked.

That's a lie, it's the biggest jobs program Murica has. Would easily affect a million people if not more.
