Milana Dudieva out, Elizabeth Phillips in vs. Valerie Letourneau at UFC 174

I've never heard either names before

Think this bout will be worth watching? It'd be nice to see some new talent at WBW

Damn. Just keeps getting less and less relevant. Fight was never meant to happen.

Now tickets for 174 are going to be even harder to sell due to this

I know the brass is desperate to get the women's fights on TV as much as possible, but please put this crap on Fight Pass and air Delorme and Tanaka on the FS1 televised portion.

So that fight just went from irrelevant to fucking Invicta prelim tier.

Who are they? WNBA failed. Will WMMA in UFC fail?

Elizabeth Phillips (4-1 MMA, Wins by 2 TKO, 1 SUB, 1 DEC)

Elizabeth Phillips is a good pickup for the UFC's women's bantamweight division. Solid capable fighter whose only loss is to Miriam Nakamoto. Phillips just defeated a smaller opponent in Katie Howard (who is more of a 115er/125er) the other week, only by UD.

I want to see that fight and get a sense of what happen, Howard is a capable fighter.

Elizabeth Phillips is a team mate of Julianna Pena's and has a similar fighting style. She has mentioned that she has been cutting back on the length of her training and its intensity recently. It'll be interesting to see what she can do against Valerie Letourneau.

Phillips has pretty decent takedowns and if she can get Letourneau to the ground she has a decent chance at winning. I'd favor Letourneau on the feet but if Phillips is aggressive she could do decent against Letourneau in a brawl. If Letourneau is able to set up her Muay Thai she has a nice selection of weapons to use, great head kicks, etc.

Letourneau tends to be defeated by upper level fighters, same can be said for Phillips so far but Letourneau has been improving and has been tested by several very good fighters. Sarah Kaufman, Alexis Davis, and Claudia Gadelha*, a bit of trouble with volume punchers and excellent ground fighters. Losing to Roxy in her TUF 18 fight was a tough blow and no doubt why she has moved on to American Top Team, previously Letourneau trained at Tristar, so she has been good camps to teach her what she needs to do to win the kinds of fights she will be faced with in the UFC.

*Gadelha is currently signed with the UFC as a strawweight and won't be in TUF 20 due to her size. She is good sized flyweight who has fought at the lower weight limits of bantamweight several times, including against Letourneau at 130lbs. Gadelha pinned Letourneau down for two rounds with Letourneau beating Gadelha up in the third.

Interdasting. Phillips trains with Chiesa and Sicilia in Washington, yes the same gym that the TUF girl got her leg fcked up at. So expect this Phillips biatch to be tough. I predict a sub or UD for Phillips

Thanks battery. You've plenty of good info yourself. And pics. I'd totally tired out. I've spent the last several days checking out Angkor Wat. Very cool. I'm finally back where I can check the Internet out with some ease.

Off to the beach tomorrow. 8)
