I'm not going to ask if anyone disagrees...
Does anyone agree with this assessment?
I agree after that finish.
Lord of the Rings... then... maybe... JDS and Cain.
Liddell vs Couture says HELLO
Its closer to the worst trilogy than the greatest
To me not even close. 2nd and third fights were not even competitive, and I mean no disrespect to JDS in saying that.
Great trilogies don't feature two one-sided beatdowns, so no.
To me, this is more like Big Tim-AA before they had the 4th fight.
It has nothing on Rampage-Wandy, Chuck-Couture..hell, i'd even take Tito's sweep on Shamrock.
Gil-JT had a better trilogy in Strikeforce. Gray-Frankie.
Melendez/Thomson was better.
It actually was if we take fight quality into account. Quite a bit better, actually. The Cain/JDS fights were too one sided.
Dan Severn vs. Travis Fulton > Cain-JDS
Great in terms of nearly 10 rounds of almost flawless fighting by Cain. Not so great in that it wasn't a back and forth battle where you didn't know who was going to come out on top.
Rampage/Silva, IMO. Then Edgar/Maynard. Then Melendez/Thomson. Then Chuck/Randy. Then a few others, then Cain/JDS
This, most underrated trilogy ever. You never see anyone bring it up when discussing great triolgies
Edgar Maynard and Wandy Page were much better imo.
I believe so. I mean the tension was so thick going into all three fights. Regardless of the outcome you knew that these two fighters are far and above better then anyone else in their weight class. I believe Cain Vs. JDS is going to be the greatest rivalry ever. That is saying something considering how much respect they have for each other.
Did he say the greatest trilogy ever? I remember him saying the greatest trilogy at HW. Could be wrong.
Not even close to top 5
Wanderlei vs Rampage was 2 one sided beatdowns and a Wandy getting KO'd in the third, so it's like a reverse JDS/Cain. Edgar/Maynard was good though.
While not even regarded as that great of a trilogy, Fedor/Nog>JDS/Cain.
Separate names with a comma.
