Not a fan of this fight since Santos just got TKO'd a month ago and another one here can't be healthy. But it's a good fight for short notice and better than the scrubs they've been feeding Page.

Cyborg replaces Fernando Gonzalez at Bellator 158.

So Bellator is looking to get another older fighter in health trouble. Cyborg just ate 62 consecutive shots May 14 against Saad Awad and now he is fighting again July 16 against Venom. I get that they are trying to build Page up with a name here but this is kinda scary. Cyborg is 38 years old and needs more than 2 months between beatings. Very very dangerous fight for Bellator to put on.

I'd say it's more risky because of the fact that Cyborg might have something for MVP. I think even though Cyborg has a lot of miles on him MVP isn't exactly the guy known for putting on vicious beatings. He's just constantly looking to counter and set up the walk-off KO.

I just worry that Cyborg took that many head shots and is fighting just 2 months after. I mean he really shouldn't even be sparring by that time but they are allowing him to fight. I wonder if a commission in the US would let him fight

That's a fair point and you're probably right to be concerned.

Wonder why they didnt go with Chidi who had Lima pulled from his fight.

Maybe didnt want to knock one of them off? Cyborg got knocked out, is suspended 45 days with 30 day no contract so he'll have 33 days to train for it.

Enough time but coming so close to being knocked out and with all the health issues Bellator has been having recently it might be smarter to not make fights like this.

Yup, same. This is disgusting, Santos took a brutal beating in that fight with Awaad. Plus hes an older guy who has had enough wars. Just makes it even more of a shame that so many are looking over these facts

MVP should be too quick for Santos...think it is going to be a stoppage by Punches...the in your face style by Santos plays right into MVP's strenght

...unless Cyborg gets this fight to the ground...or to the clinch

Pleasantly surprised.

Don't get me wrong, Cyborg is
pretty much done, but he's experienced, hits hard, can grapple a bit and has name value. I was expecting some 4-1 unknown Brit to be thrown to the slaughter.

He was just knocked out by a smaller guy, now he's fighting a big, tall, lanky sniper of a striker who has power.

He'll hit Cyborg 3 times before he even knows what happened and Cyborg will be out.
