Michael Johnson - Conor McGregor knows exactly what will happen when he fíghts Khabib

I think it’s funny that he says

“If khabib stood with me it’d be a different story.”

He stood with him most of the first round, when he had his moment.
I think he meant if it was a kickboxing match it would be a different story.

Question is, will you Conor cultists still defend him if he finds a way to avoid Tony and Khabib? If anything he will maybe fight Tony and if he manages to win then he either retires or goes and boxes Manny and then we never see him again. The only way he fights Khabib is if they literally drag his chicken ass to the cage.

Guy picks ex opponent who mauled him to beat a guy he's never fought, shocker.

This is MMA. Taking MJ down is part due to him being a lesser striker than Connor.
It's not like Johnson is a scrub in the striking department. You're not saying that are you? And Conor has good striking but he relies heavily on one weapon. I don't want to say he's a one trick pony but some have made that argument. I could also argue that the gap in Conor and Michael's grappling is bigger than the gap in their striking. Weighing all that I definitely believe that Michael being the superior wrestler/grappler and having fought Khabib makes him uniquely qualified to say he knows what will happen if they fight.

MJ giving his take on the Khabib / Barboza match-up, saying, "Damn, I know exactly what that feels like" (to be mauled Khabib).

Says he does not think Conor will accept a fight with The Eagle, because Conor is good at picking his fights. and knows it's a bad match-up for him.

Johnson says, "I think Conor knows what's going to happen in that fight."

just think about it:
conor fights khabib.
all that hype, all that PPV, so many million people would tune in.
the fcn irish nation travels in to see mcgregor fight again.
and then... conor gets mauled, mauled, punished by khabib in front of all those fans and spotlight... all 5 rounds. think about it...
thats a fcn slug fest.

thats a very bad spot for a guy like mcgregor, so i can understand the perspective of michael johnson.

McGregor going to worm his way out of fighting either man. Ferg will sub him or Kebab brutalizes him with GnP
my opinion I think khabib beats him 9 out of 10 times, I think ferg is closer to 7 out of 10 times, conor makes khabib and ferg fight first so he only has to fight one of them and hope to god its one of the times he does win, so he never has to rematch the guy and not fight the other one since he beat the guy who beat the other giving him another year to wait for a "worthy" challenger.
hope I'm wrong and he eventually fights both getting mauled both times then a trilogy with nate losing that fight too

That's right. He's not terrible, I guess. But he gets uncomfortable and fatigues easier than most. And he's been getting tapped since the start of his career.

*I just noticed that he was tapped by this journeyman, Ted Worthington (35-53 as a pro), early in his career. That guy also tko'd Elkins in 15 seconds and armbar'd Abel Trujillo.

Do you know if he has a specific belt in bjj or does he not have one at all? He just seems like a wrestler athlete with explosive hands.

Haha, I couldn't beat Khabib so no one else can...

Conor has the best chance of anyone to beat Khabib, even the haters should accept that.
ferg has a way better chance then conor. conor has a punchers chance and that's it

MJ is a better grappler than Conor so his experience being in there with Khabib damn sure makes his point valid.

johnson is a wrestler himself. he just uses the wrestling for defense like whittaker. ok whittakers wrestling defense is insane but conor get taken down by mendez and midcore grappler diaz. so..

Nah.

Ferguson and Lee, actual high level wrestlers, can easily do the Barboza - proper angle and burring themselves to the cage, denying the hold. While actually having much more to offer in grappling.

While they also have way greater chance of getting clocked by Conor, since they are hittable and don't have as relentless TDs as Khabib.

Nothing to do with 'hating' just looking at their performances.

Ferguson and Lee actually have average tdd compared to barboza.

I dont know about that. Call it delusion or over confidence, but i thinl conor genuinely thinks he can ko khabib. I think he has a better chance of anyone at doing it even though i think khabib wins that fight.

He was expecting Alvarez to steam roll Conor with his grappling, obviously because they both trained at Blackzilians, he's his pal and while I didn't hear Johnson say anything about the Mendes fight, Alvarez brought it up.

It's two different match ups. Anyway, funny how people are almost expecting Nurmagomedov is going to fight Conor next, Conor is scared, knows what's up, etc, when there's Ferguson holding the interim belt.

The self titled experts on here have being wrong a few times picking against Conor, so if he wins, it'll be because of something. Or if he loses, he's exposed. Same old, same old - would love to see them fight, but it has to be Ferguson next.

Nate DID NOT take Conor down.

Conor shot at him after being rocked standing like a pathetic panic wrestler.

Get your facts straight!

No chance.

I'd say Kevin Lee stylistically has the best chance against Khabib out of all the UFC LW's.

Dunno, i think from what we've seen now, he doesn't have better standup than Nurmagomedov at all.

Not nearly good enough TDs too, with game being top oriented and cardio issues.

While Ferguson can outscrap anyone, outstrike Khabib and pull something crazy from his back/some transition.

I think he has more chance.

Ferguson and Lee actually have average tdd compared to barboza.

Because they don't mind being taken down as much/at all.

Barboza is pretty much 100% striker, and defending a TD is matter of life and death to him.

So somewhat different situations.

at the end of the 5th round in the second diaz fight nate got him down.
even in the first fight. a rear naked choke finnish... wtf u see a rear naked choke finnish at beginners or in wmma.

No, Lee is a terrible striker and his grappling is inferior, he has no advantages.

No, Lee is a terrible striker and his grappling is inferior, he has no advantages.

But his grappling (when healthy) is ahead of most of the division.

Maybe behind Khabib, but if he can stop Khabib from taking him down, his striking is at least on par with Khabibs.

Again, I'd pick Khabib to win , just thinking who in the LW division would have the best chance.

Exactly, imagine what Khabib will do to him. Conor may die.

I have no idea what his belt is. He doesn't seem completely clueless, but he does seem like more of a wrestler/athlete with good hands, like Hendo or Rampage. Both of those guys were good grapplers, but they just didn't win fights via submission.
