A Houston Texans offensive tackle popped for PED's.

Interestingly enough, his suspension was overturned after it was found that the meat in Mexico is tainted with Clenbuterol (an anabolic cutting agent).

Brown was suspended last season after he tested positive for clenbuterol, which is on the league’s banned substance list. He appealed the suspension and won, arguing that the result was based on eating too much meat during a trip to Mexico.

Brown’s appeal included receipts for 10 hamburgers and two steaks during his trip to Baja, according to the report.

The NFL even sent out a statement to players warning them that consuming meat from certain areas could lead to positive results.

“There is some evidence that some meat produced in China and Mexico may be contaminated with clenbuterol, an anabolic agent which is banned by the NFL Policy on Performance-Enhancing Substances,” the statement says.

“Consuming large quantities of meat while visiting those particular countries may result in a positive test for clenbuterol in violation of the Policy. Players are warned to be aware of this issue when traveling to Mexico and China. Please take caution if you decide to consume meat, and understand that you do so at your own risk.”

Damn Mexico. Get your shit together, homie!

Sounds like they did get their shit together and have leapfrogged us in meat

I remember a few years ago the whole Mexico national football team (El Tri/La Seleccion) popped positive during an international competition, I don't remember which tournament it was. But they had to do a ton of research to eventually find out that this was the problem and that adding clembuterol to certain meats was a common practice in Mexico and they ended up giving them a pass.

If i remember correctly, from that same study, that substance in those quantities really doesn't make any difference as to be labeled a PED.

Hmmm... I was looking for an excuse to head to Del Rio.

Need to submit a request for a grant to do research in the name of Bro-Science

I wonder how it will affect the kids over the years.
Getting that shit into your body from a young age.

Some people laughed at Frank Mir's "kangaroo meat" speculation, but he was trying to figure out how shit got in his system in Australia if he wasn't using, and this kinda shit happens. Especially outside the US, any place with less strict regulations about how animals are fed & meat is processed. Animals get pumped with all kinds of weird shit, you eat it, and next thing you know you pop for "trace amounts" of whatever the hell it was.

The gold cup. I think it was only 6 or 7 players though and IIRC the ban stuck

I'm not 100% sure, but I think Australia has stricter regulations on meat than the US. I know for a fact New Zealand does.

Depends what part of Mexico they grow up in. A significant percentage won't live long enough to worry about it.
