Nahh you're not tripping, you're correct, but he suffered a detached retina and they vacated the title.

A little bit of old news, but...Devin Haney has been demoted to Champion in Recess at Lightweight by the WBC after he decided not to fight Shakur Stevenson and instead is moving up to Super Lightweight to take on Regis Progais for his WBC World Super Lightweight Championship.

https://www.boxingnews24.com/2023/0...ur-stevenson-to-fight-for-vacant-135-lb-belt/

Shakur Stevenson will fight against the highest accepting contender for the Vacant WBC World Lightweight Championship. Obviously Stevenson vs Lomachenko is the fight everyone wants to see, but if they can't make that happen then the WBC will continue to move down their rankings until they find someone who accepts the fight.

upload_2023-8-11_15-57-52.png

What does Champion in Recess Mean, you ask? Is Devin Haney still the Undisputed World Lightweight Champion?

Why does this need a thread?
Lol at all the old geezers replying their own link they go to.
I just google and open which ever result.
There is even a whole wikipedia page of current boxing champs.

Wasteland imo…

Were gonna make a rule here that we do not discuss the WBAs "regular" Championship belts anymore.
Charr was the WBA Regular Champion from late 2017 to early 2021. He had zero defenses of his worthless belt.
Fuck him, and fuck that little shitty belt. The WBA Champ is Usyk, why do they even have that other belt still?

Haha! And you didn't even get into all his illegal substances yet. But I agree, I hate how the WBA has "regular" and "Super Champs", etc. it's typical boxing BS. Like you said Usyk is the champ end of story. But alas, I share this news about the Regular anyways.

Edit: Also, I updated the message you quoted to add the three title fight results from the last weekend (in case you missed that or care to see the highlights).
