To be honest I don't see the double standards in this one. The reason is that you kind of expect a Korean-American to succeed because the average IQ in SK is above 100. The reason why a Somali-American gets all the news coverage is that the average IQ of Somalis is below 70, so you don't really expect much from them, thus when they succeed at something it is something really groundbreaking.

Nice try, but that is not the reason. Leftist dominate the Western media and prefer to promote certain narratives that further the leftist project. Some of those narratives include the idea that the Democratic party is the bastion of racial tolerance and inclusiveness, while the Republican party is the bastion of White Supremacy and bigotry towards racial minorities. This of course flips history on it's head, but if you want power then the truth is often sacrificed.

A Korean-American woman getting elected as a Republican is not as desirable a narrative for the MSM as a Somali woman getting elected as a Democrat.
