Gil has been talking about it and saying "he has his eye on Eddie Alvarez".

With Benson now being booked with Masvidal, and GIl free his comeback fight against Melendez sounds good to me.

    Your thoughts?

These are probbaly my favorite two LW's aside from Maynard. Would hate to see them fight. If they do fight, it's going to be insane.

Would have loved this fight years ago when Melendez was SF champ and Alvarez was Bellator champ. Doesn't sound like it was ever seriously going to happen, despite all the talk back then.

Melendez is just the better all-around fighter and takes this 9 times out of 10.

I'd put money on Alvarez as far as a finish goes. Would be great to see it happen.

I've been thinking this fight for a while now, and it's the perfect time for it.

Same here. As soon as Gil lost to Pettis I thought of this match up.

I def think it happens, maybe they want to try and build Eddie and Gil back up instead of really putting one of them in the hole though.

Two losses in a row for Eddie ends any sort of title contention talk but its a fight years in the making.

Could easily headline a FN, would be perfect for a Philly FN main event, maybe even a Mexico card. But thats a fight that screams 5 rounds.

Thats problem, everyone wants deep cards but cant have every good fight on a card be 5 rounds. Some of them are gonna have to be three rounds.

My money would be on Melendez. This fight seems like a no-brainer right now (as far as booking it, not the outcome.)

I hear y'all out but some fights need to be co main events to PPVs. I'd love to see TWood/Gastelum go 5 rounds, but it's a great co main event to a big headliner.
