International Melbourne, metropolis of 5 million people, has gone 9 days without a COVID infection

They will soon. Their numbers are exploding.

Maybe try to keep up with current events.

LoL maybe look at their graphs and keep your covid cowardice in check so you can honestly interpret it.

Cases are from spread among the younger pop. They will never achieve mays death rates.

Under 40s have a better chance at winning the lotto then dying of covid.

And their yearly deaths will be as effected as Sweden's. No different then last year's.

Two different methods same yearly results.

I'm talking about reality. Sweden's death rate will be fuck all higher then what they been having for years. They haven't had a day above 20 covid death since June.

Sweden and Australia will have the normal logical expected death rate as last years. Covid will effect neither one.

Covid-19 claimed about 4,500 lives in the period to the end of June – a number that has now risen to 5,800 – a much higher percentage of the population than in other Nordic nations, though lower than in some others, including Britain and Spain.

In total, 51,405 Swedes died in the six-month period, a higher number than in any year since 1869, when 55,431 people died, partly as a result of a famine. The population of Sweden was about 4.1 million then, compared with 10.3 million now.

Yeah. Sweden only had their highest death rate for the first 6 months of 2020 in the past 150 years. Completely normal , no difference in the death rate at all. Pfffft

The Swedish COVID-19 experiment of not implementing early and strong measures to safeguard the population has been hotly debated around the world, but at this point we can predict it is almost certain to result in a net failure in terms of death and suffering. As of Oct. 13, Sweden’s per capita death rate is 58.4 per 100,000 people, according to Johns Hopkins University data, 12th highest in the world (not including tiny Andorra and San Marino). But perhaps more striking are the findings of a study published Oct. 12 in the Journal of the American Medical Association, which pointed out that, of the countries the researchers investigated, Sweden and the U.S. essentially make up a category of two: they are the only countries with high overall mortality rates that failed to rapidly reduce those numbers as the pandemic progressed.

Hahaha.

Winter hasn't even started and their numbers have tripled.

They'll go into lock down soon enough.

Here you go covid coward

Facts over cowards propaganda.

Huh?

People in other countries are bad for....caring about US citizens more than the president or his dumbass sycophantic supporters who even as we speak are bitching about minor inconveniences like wearing a mask? It's truly incredible that you could turn you and your leader's colossal, self-serving fuckup that killed a quarter million people into a claim of victimhood. It's like an entire ideology of whiny irresponsibility

People who care about me don't compare themselves to me. Last I checked its a virus killing people not the president.

dude...... if those countries did way better by following medical experts advice then we should have too and still can if we can get some kind of legitimate leadership that values and respects science and compassion for other peoples lives.

why turn this into an attack on them instead of a learning opportunity for us?

Which medical experts should we have listened to? The one's that told us not to do prolonged lockdowns? Or the ones that told us to do lockdowns for an indefinite period of time?

You act as if experts are one monolithic group, they aren't, they disagree on many many things. You act as if experts have never been wrong. Here is a nice long list of doomsday predictions by experts, who were quite wrong in their predictions.

88 766 deaths for the entire in 2019. 51 045 deaths in the first 6 months of 2020. 150 years record for the 6 months. April broke a 20 30 year record for deaths. And its now bout to roll into their winter again.

75645 for first ten month this of the year.

Are you to blind to see that or does it not fit your covid cowards narrative.

2020 looks it wont even be their highest deadly year in the past decade. Ha.

You Americans should take note, and wear your fucking masks.

The Aussies seem to have figured it out.

Do facts and numbers scare you?

Ohh so scary covid yet can't even bump the yearly death rate of a nation that did the least lockdown and shutdowns.

I mean they got it under control, but Victoria was Australia's screw up, not it's success story.
If they hadn't completely ballsed up their quarantine protocols, the country would have been rid of the disease except for returning travellers in quarantine before their second lock down began.
Every other state got it under control and kept it under control (although NSW screwed up to a lesser degree with the Ruby Princess cruise ship).

You keep going on about facts yet completely ignore them having the worst 6 months in
150 years in regards to their death toll. Just a odd coincidence hey ?

Yeah, the state talked about here in glowing terms, Victoria, was actually far and away the worst of all the Australian states.
