Meet the man behind a third of what's on Wikipedia, wrote 35,000 articles for the site

“He lives with his parents in the childhood home that he grew up in”

The guy is doing the lords work as I use wiki all the time, like I’m sure everybody else does, but the only way that he could have been an even larger walking stereotype type is if he wore a fedora during the entirety of the video. He even has the m’lady accent down pat.
He is the real life Eugene

This guy deserves a medal.

I remember me and my best mate having an incredible afternoon editing pages and just throwing pure banter around. Ended up getting both of our workplaces IP's banned from the site. Disaster.

3 million minutes = 5.7 years.

Just think about that.

after watching the video on the guy, i came to the conclusion, "well, of course it was someone like him" lol.

yeah, that's a crap-load of time. on the other hand, this guy is probably quite wealthy. or at least he should be. having the reputation he does, opens doors to LOTS of financial opportunities.

Article says he did it in his spare time - so over 13 years he managed 3 million edits and 35000 articles?

I'm not seeing how he did it

This story is both interesting and bizarre.

This middle aged, unfortunate looking “loner” who still lives with his parents has educated millions of people in the world from his contributions to Wiki, all the while being unnoticed to the majority of the public. He does this shit in his free time too? Crazy.

Wasn’t that Canadian guy that got captured with his wife in Afghanistan by the Taliban a serious Wikipedia contributor?

Maybe he was a threat to this Pruitt guy’s record and so Pruitt arranged their capture like Jeff Bridges in the first Iron Man movie. Tony Stark came back with his armour while this guy came back with a bunch of kids.

Even though he's probably a :eek::eek::eek: i respect his contributions and educaton of the general public.

Thank you for your service, sir.

If my math is right, if he spends an average of 30 seconds per edit (seems too low to me), he's spent an average of 5.5 hours per day every day making edits. Add in time for reading the articles before editing and such, that's probably 8+ hours per day on Wiki. It's sad that someone could think this is a fulfilling life.

Says the guy with a black belt on Sherdog....

He enjoys it, and sees benefits of it for others. Sounds like a much better hobby and expenditure of time than most people have
