Meat's regular posting, especially as a civi, was before my time, and I really don't know much about the guy.

It is rumored that he once was (or is) and excellent poster, and that he works very hard for SD. And in my few personal dealings with him, he has been pleasent and occasionally helpful.

That having been said...

Meat controls not only OT but all of the SD.net forums. The other admins are MUCH less active than he is as far as governing the forums, and while he may take into consideration the feelings or input of the other mods, he is ultimately the dictator. Other than Jeff, Meat has 100% final say in all OT decisions.

Thus he is usually directly responsible for the decisions that are made.

Lately the decisions that have been made have been illogical, somewhat arbitrary, and certainly based on other things than facts. He rufuses to be accountable for his decisions, or to communicate with the forum members in any sort of normal dialouge. He may claim this is because he is very busy, but he refuses to allow ANYONE else to help him or take any control.

His actions, especially as of late, or completely unacceptable to me. Not that my opinion matters, or that I can do anything about this, but I certainly don't like it. I hope something changes soon.

If DRA was in fact hacked it more than likely means those posted pm's are likely factual. Meat referred to a group of posters as idiots and clearly showed he is siding with DRA. I really dont think someone in his position should be siding with anyone, rather making decisions that are the best for the forum. In the last few months I have seen popular threads and good threads put up by great posters (meat clearly doesnt agree) moved to the wasteland while totally useless threads stay in OT. I am a reasonable person and in the past (kimo incident) I did nothing but back the admin and the decisions made but this seems to have gone too far.

First, ignoring all the DRA chaos, everything I said above still stands.

Second, I hope that DRA is gone, for good. But since he's trolled incessantly, forged and posted a pm, and sent unsolicited porn via PM using his wifes account, and he wasn't even punished then, I have no reason to believe that he will be punished now. And since he's wrote grandiose goodbye statements and supposedly left before, only to return, I have no reason to believe he's gone for good now.

Meat was a great OT poster. I didn't read said PM's nor do I know how MF feels about OT now. But I doubt he really hates the place from my experiences with him. OT has always been a "deal-with-it-or-get-out" kind of place. The fact that some people can't handle it means they should stay out of here.

DRA has been a cancer on this place and has helped in it's decline. The "locals" around here have taken too much for granted. The fact that some dung pile like DRA would be allowed to stay and propogate his craptacular brand of posting while others have been banned galls me. I think some of the less offensive banned vets should be given a second chance. They just need to realize that there are rules to follow and not spend their time pushing the envelope.

Those of you that complain about the rules now should have been here when there were no rules. People got in trouble and banned on a whim. It was nice to finally have rules posted. I got tired of everyone trying to see how far they could go, then complain when they got drilled.
