Don't accuse me of being a McGregor nuthugger. I'm a neutral observer. Let me explain why this article is uninformed trash:
http://ftw.usatoday.com/2016/03/ufc-196-conor-mcgregor-hype-trash-talk-nate-diaz

So the first point is that people are continuing to say he only got the title shot because Dana White loves him. Let's look at who other fighters beat to get a title shot at FW:

Mendes II: Cody McKenzie (KO - R1), Yaotzin Meza (KO-R1), Darren Elkins (KO-R1), Clay Guida (TKO-R3), Nik Lentz (Decision)
Lamas: Matt Grice(TKO-R1), Cub Swanson(Submission-R2), Hatsu Hoiki(Decision), Erik Koch(TKO-R2)
Korean Zombie: Leonard Garcia(Submission-R2), Mark Hominick(KO-R1), Dustin Poirier(Submission-R4)
Edgar: Immediate title shot at 145 after two decision losses at 155.
Mendes I: Cub Swanson(Decision), Javier Vazquez(Decision), Michihiro Omigawa(Decision), Rani Yahya(Decision)
Florian: Diego Nunes(Decision) after loss to Gray Maynard

So
McGregor: Brimage(TKO-R1), Holloway(Decision), Brandao(TKO-R1), Poirier(TKO-R1), Siver(TKO-R2)
is arguably the most impressive run that anyone getting a title shot has had since there have been FWs in the UFC. He was the best contender that Aldo hadn't already beaten.

He's one of the most prolific knockout artists in the lower weight classes in UFC history. His knockout percentage and first round knockout percentage are among the best in MMA history for lower weight classes.

And when McGregor was injured in 2013 and calling out the whole top 10, everyone was saying Mendes and Aldo were so good and amazing that they'd vivisect him inside 30 seconds. He handed Aldo his first ever KO/TKO, inside 13 seconds, and Mendes his second KO/TKO.

Ignore the persona for a second. Conor McGregor has had one of the greatest initial runs in UFC history. Anybody who denies this is living in cloud cuckoo land. People are being blinded by dislike of his personality.

His run at 145 has been ultra impressive but the fact is he likely can only keep his belt for so long if he doesn't improve his ground game. Frankie would soundly beat him if they fought.

I never understood how some people can say that he was gifted a title shot. Haters, I guess.

The hate leave them blind.

Or them either don't know jackshit and just want something strong to say.

Yah he had a great run. Knocked out Aldo for fuck sakes lol.

Haters see what they want. And that's themselves in the mirror, full of failure, they close their eyes in anger, snatch their cellphones and type away furiously releasing their frustrations on Conor. They sigh in relief, they smile at the mirror, then a little tear comes out and they close their eyes again in anger. Rinse and repeat.

Conor is the greatest fighter in combat sports, period. A lucky moment for Nate won't change that. He'll still be the favorite in a rematch, and that's because even haters themselves know what happened.

Uhhhh trolling?

I don't agree. Frankie has tiny T-rex arms and that will be decisive.
