Impressive or nay? Kind of reminds me of Anderson/Franklin 1 when Rich was caught in the clinch and had no idea what the hell was happening or how to defend it. Cowboy seemed lost there. Whether you love Conor or hate him, it's always fun to see new stuff, offensively or defensively. I see alot of posts about Conors next opponent, whether the fight was fixed, how bad Cowboy was, yadda yadda. But nothing about the shoulder strikes. Thoughts?
They are definitely easier to pull off if your opponent just stands there with an underhook doing nothing to defend them.
the technique is pretty basic for people who clinch, but it was the connections that impressed me. you could hear them land on the broadcast
Yeah it almost seemed like Donald wanted to get paid and get the fuck out of there. But hey when you have the best fighter in the history of mankind across from you, who can blame him right? I wish Cowboy would have at least pretended to try.
I wasn't so impressed that McGregor threw 'em, but was/ am impressed by the (seemingly) amount of damage inflicted.
No one is throwing those in the center of the cage besides McGregor, and no one has gotten the pop on them that he has. Just give it up, he used a sneaky technique that most dont and put some sauce on it. It was cool to see
That wasn’t likely from that position, but he could have use your underhook to turn him, or break the clinch, he could have evenclosed space. He did none of those things. Instead he froze and allowed Conor to create and use separation to attack.
Uh, if someone's going to actually jump in the air while in the clinch, you just hook the leg and push forward or drag to the ground. It's not rocket science except for someone like Donald who promised not to wrestle...in fact, nothing Conor attempted would work against someone who wanted to wrestle.
