McGregor v. Edgar and Nate v. Lawler

Why are these not the next fights? Unless GSP is coming back then yeah I'm cool with GSP/Lawler but as a pure stylistic match up Nate/Lawler is going to be nuts. That and McGregor needs to defend his belt. I don't get the UFC sometimes.

For the zillionth time... Because Diaz/McGregor is bigger than both. And it makes sense to have Frankie challenge at MSG. I've no doubt this will have to be repeated for another zillion times before it even begins to sink in.

And as others have mentioned... Why would Nate get a shot at WW over Condit, Woodley, Thompson etc... It's absurd. Just as the talk of McGregor doing it was absurd.

Nate doesn't deserve it. Thompson does but they gave him a fight didn't they? Plus Nick already has beaten Lawler so there's that angle to promote it. I basically just hate instant rematches and McGregor/Diaz 2 makes no sense plus the FW crown just sits there. Let these champs fight even if it ain't the most logical contender a la Nate or if it is a la Frankie.

He is on a 1(ONE) fight win streak at LW, he beat Conor at 170, and on top of that he was completely dominated by RDA not to long ago...Nate doesn`t deserve a titleshot but nowadays the UFC doesn`t give a fuck and only goes after money fights so who knows.

Again, I agree about Nate, he doesn't deserve any title shots yet.

But yes Conor/RDA was stupid as well. Conor just beat Aldo in a bizarre way and UFC was quick to sweep him under the rug like he never existed, yet they set this precedent for giving dominant champions instant rematches. Then of course there's Frankie. Conor never defended his belt and just bolted from the division, which still sits stagnant.

I was looking forward to the fight, as anyone would... but from a sport and fairness point of view it was wrong for so many reasons.
