If he lose on his first title defense (vs Edgar or Aldo 2)
Can he win a title at 155 next? (I don't think so)
He will get a shot i'm sure.

Don't get me wrong, still think Conor is very good (so is Machida)
But honestly, I don't see Conor becoming a dominant force in the UFC.

That being said, big thanks to him.
Any fighter who can get paid like he do is good for the sport.
He bring more eyeballs and there is no downside to this.

Conor made his fame by disrespecting everyone.

Machida was champion on a division above his natural Weight class.
Conor became champion on a division he is literally the biggest guy.

Machida was known for his prowess inside the octagon
Conor is more well known for his trash talk outside of it

Machida had to beat most of the top 205s to get a title shot. When he won the title he thoroughly dominated Rashad and left no doubt.

Cloner beat handpicked opponents and kinda lucked out vs Aldo, left a lot of unanswered questions.

Machida is veeery far from done. Expect Machida 2.0 straight from KingsMMA with conditioning he had never had before, crisper and stronger striking\kicking and being aggressive.
Cordeiro-Curson gym/training routine can be considered the best as of today.
