Looking at this forum it seems that Mcregor- Diaz at UFC 200 is unavoidable, so how will connor sell it on his part ?

For now most of mcgregor's strategy at selling fights has been crazy trash talking and "trying to fight" during the face offs but since he was badly beaten by diaz and played the humble guy role afterwards what will his attitude be leading to this one ? It's ufc 200, mcgregor is kind of mainstream now and the last fight was awesome so it will sell well but will connor get back to his antics to hype the fight some more or will it be Conor the humbled one mcgregor ?

Im still buzzing from his loss... I mean I watch his loss every 3rd day to pick myself up.. I have never enjoyed sherdog so much!!

They gonna have to push that revenge angle. " I can't eat I can't sleep I can't go back to 145 until I slay Diaz!"

The UFC and Conor will find some way to spin it so that the loss means nothing. If Nate wins a second time, they are fucked though.

He's gonna have his hands full with the lead up and the fight. If he talks about not being prepared, Nate can say he was less prepared. If Conor talks about moving up in weight, Nate can say the same thing as he is a LW not a WW. Conor can't say he's gonna do this and that in the fight, because he threw literally everything he had at Nate and Nate took it and beat him. He doesn't have many options on what to say. But it will sell because Conor could say he is the reincarnation of Andre the Giant and people would believe it.

they are already trying with saying that connor fought at 170 lb on short notice, even though we all know nate is a 155er

that's the thing, mcgregor doesn't have any arguments, even if he had some good lines, all diaz would have to say is: " i owned your ass without any preparation"

I for one hope that Diaz beats him even more handily the next time. That will put an end to this stupid talk of McGregor fighting at 170. He's just too small. Like Ben Henderson, Conor can fight some guys at 170, but cannot beat anyone in the top 10 unless they slip on a banana peel. Lawlor, Rory, Condit, Maia, Woodley, Magny, Thompson, or Brown?...no. Even if Conor beats Nate, its still tells us nothing about his ability to fight at WW. If he wants to fight at WW, I'd like to see him against Condit.

He should go back to 145 and defend his belt. Or, vacate the belt and fight at 155. However, I expect that he'll have problems at LW too. RDA, the Eagle, and El Cuy are waiting for him.

There's a reason for having the fight at 170. If Conor loses again to Nate at 170, it's not that big of a deal as the UFC can still try to sell him at 155. However, if he fights Nate (ranked #5) at 155 and loses, how do you then sell him at LW. Also, I think that Conor may have a problem getting back to 145 and that's why he's not defending his belt next. Also, Conor wants to erase the stain of losing and probably thinks that a few adjustments against Nate will work this time around. Anything is possible but I don't think Conor will beat Nate. Finally, this is his way of testing the waters at 170 without fighting a real WW.

I am not on the Conor bandwagon and do not like the way he hypes his fight. However, I am looking forward to how he hypes this fight. His predictions and yelling and screaming might sound a bit hollow this time around.

wow, exactly my thoughts. If connor losses to nate for the second time which is highly possible, he is fucked (especially if this one is more decisve as it should be). connor would be stuck in a limbo where he can hardly make 145 (and really doesn't want to do so) and got beaten twice and decisevely by a top 10 lightweight at best. I don't understand why they make this fight as soon (except the money argument) because on the long term by doing this the ufc could kill one of their cash cows.

Pretty much. He doesn't have much of a defense for anything that can be said and honestly I'm glad. I'd like to see a serious Cloner for a change and that way there is absolutely not a single excuse bar an injury.

It was not complete domination from start to finish. If we look at the fight it was Nate face that looked worse and he clearly lost 1 round and probably was losing the second also.

Conor will probably talk about having a different gameplan for Nate, i think.. Hes energy was bad for the last fight so he probably talk about that?

End of the day i like this rematch. I feel Conor came into this fight not as prepared as he should be. Will it change the outcome second fight, we have to wait and see.

Conor was humble in defeat. Why is he now playing "the humble guy role"?
I think he is just being his self.

He will continue to be himself, that's why people like him.

Getting beaten by Nate was probably a good thing to happen to him. He can now re-set in the real world.

i don't like the rematch but
i love diaz
i like conor
the first fight was fun
i've watched worse fights...

...this forum isn't full of great minds but i'm sure almost everyone here like mma and will like it... we gotta see if the casuals still care about the irish lad

Wtf are you talking about? Look around- Conor hasn't said a peep and there are nothing but McGregor threads around this place.

All Conor has to do is show up, this thing couldn't dip below a million if he tried to tank the PPV sales.

*For example if he went on a Ronda style food binge where he was popping up in media stuffing his face every day and getting fat, demanding that no one ask him about fighting and locking himself in his room to cry, it would still pull 1.5 mil easy.

The work is already done.

Think about it, it used to be Conor fans that had to do all the work, start the threads, make noise, now the haters are obsessed with Conor. At least for this brief moment there is even more attention on Conor than before the loss, and he is getting right back in against Nate so it won't fade, especially with Nate talking shit.

it'll fall off fast If he loses a few but right now the spotlight is still focused on McGregor.
