Can people stop saying stupid stuff like "McGregor and Nate are both natural LWs!" "McGregor lost to a LW that just didn't cut weight", "McGregor only went up one weight class" ...

This kind of logic is beyond dumb.

McGregor lost to the WW version of Nate Diaz. The same way Fedor lost to the 205 version of Dan Henderson. If Fedor had fought 185 Hendo, he would have probably wrecked him easily!!

Arlovski didn't lose to 170 Rumble Johnson. He lost to HW Rumble.

Anderson didn't beat HW Belfort. He beat MW Belfort.

I could go on all day ...

It's like EVERYONE since the dawn of the UFC gets credit for moving up and challenging fighters at higher weight classes, but as soon as McGregor does it ... "oh, it doesn't count, they were both LWs that didn't cut weight" ... ugh.

Common knowledge. Weight cutting makes you weaker and more susceptible to damage and getting KO'd. In theory, if both fighters were at FW, Conor McGregor would most likey destroy Nate Diaz ... as Diaz would be so wrecked from the weight cut. Diaz beat Conor at WW ... Somewhere in the middle at LW, it would be interesting.

Nate Diaz beat the WW version of Conor McGregor on a 10 day fight camp with no sparring, sick off of some dank Mexico water PERIOD.

I agree with you. They both fought at WW. Thank you.

Maybe, but Nate took this fight in a 10 day notice. So it was supposed to balance it out.

You're welcome. Conor had the advantage going in against a small and unprepared WW and STILL got it handed to him. Imagine how he would fare against those WW that fight at 180-190lbs? No chance.

Lmao, you sure you wanna go there? The only reason the fight was at 170 is because your hero handpicked a LW who wasn't in shape. The guy was chilling on a boat. Then on 2 week notice he had better cardio than Conor (lmao), outstruck him, turned him into a panic wrestler and then destroyed him on the ground.

I agree. They weren't the heaviest welterweights come fight night but it was still contested at 170. I don't think it makes Nate's win look less good or that.

I do think 170 was a silly idea but there was no telling some people that.

You can argue that. That's fine. But, the fight was at WW. I just want us all to agree on this. These "they are both LWs" comments is ridiculous.

Diaz IS a LW.
Conor is a LW.
They fought at 170.

If that makes Diaz a WW, it also makes Conor a WW.
Logic 101 just hit you in the face...

BOOM
KO
...if you were a WW, maybe you could have taken it... :D

McGregor lost, period.

Get over it.

I'm not surprised by how whiny you extreme fans are being.

Your life seems pathetic as it is from your Mayberry threads and this is before i even factor in you living vicariously through Conor.

So let me get this straight. The UFC is now a competition of whose the better man at cutting weight. So Conor is more equipped to cut to 145 therefore he's still better than Nate and you somehow feel he would wreck a guy who dominated him forcing him to quit the stand up game and be submitted. There is no more dominant way to finish a man then to choke them out after softening them up. It's like an execution.

At 155 - Nate would annihilate Conor even more. Nate's reach was so key in that fight - no matter how much weight he cuts that reach isn't getting shorter and Conor's isn't getting longer. You pretty much just proved a point you weren't trying to prove, as you say "weight cutting makes you weaker and more susceptible to damage and getting ko'ed" - Nate is tough as fuck and I can assure you that if a 170 Conor can't drop him with his supposed "incredible left hand" - a Conor at 55 that has cut weight and "become weaker" is not going to be able to drop him.

It's not ridiculous at all if you have any idea how weight cutting works, and you clearly don't.
