Yup Conor McGregor has gone full Mike Tyson. Meets some adversity and he resorts to cheating. And just like boxing has not been the same since Tyson retired, MMA is going to go downhill as well. Rules ultimately are rather arbitrary and thus meant to be broken, although not egregiously, but from a GTO perspective, you should probably always cheat a bit (unless you have no need to).

I think the problem lies in the fact that the refs can issue warnings first; if they take warnings out of the equation, and instead make it a mandatory point deduction, that would curb a lot of these dirty tactics and if a ref fails to deduct points it gives the fighter more ammunition to appeal the result of a fight should it be necessary.
