He is good offensively but he leaves openings an gets clipped a lot

he took a LOT of heavy shots from Marcus Brimage

imagine when Aldo lands on him

Tell me TS, how many times has Conor even been visibly hurt from strikes?

i didnt say that

i said he has poor defense in the sense he gets hit a LOT.. watch his fight against Brimage, its on youtube

kinda like Khabib .. Khabib outstrikes everyone he fights but it looks like he leaves lots of openings and gets hit sometimes... the guy outstruck RDA 93 to 53... just months ago... yet RDA outstruck Pettis..

McGregor suffers the same way.. though he gets hit more often because hes a striker and stands up more

He also deflects them and partially defends with his shoulder but he can definitely take a shot.

He did not get hit a lot by Brimage. Florian was saying he did, but the shots either just missed or Conor was rolling with them, significantly reducing their impact.

Conor leaves himself open to draw attacks so he can counter.

He's not perfect, no one is, but Conor is a very advanced striker and saying otherwise just demonstrates how little you know about striking.

"He took a LOT of shots against Brimage" Not true, he got hit probably one good time (where it actually connected) and it did nothing

I don't remember Max Holloway landing anything of significance against him

I remember Brandao landed a right at the very start of the fight that did nothing

Poirier got him with a left that did nothing

And Siver grazed him a few times but that's more because at some point, Conor just decided to walk him down and stay right in front of him, and tee off on him. He wasn't too worried about Sivers shots, didn't move like he did in his fights against Brimage and Brandao. Just walked him down

But anyways: In his 5 UFC fights, you can probably barely remember 10 strikes that have been landed against him, and 0 that have actually effected him. So I don't think his striking defense is something to be worried about. It's not like Aldo's defense is perfect either. He has good head movement, but when he swings he tends to come from the hips and leave his head wide open. Mendes caught him a few times that way

This is MMA, you do know that right? 99.9% of guys have horrible striking defense. McGregors isn't actually that bad, he just doesn't mind getting hit and just likes walking his opponents down, it's called having confidence in your chin.

Aldo got hit more times in his last fight than McGregor has in his whole UFC career Conors haters hold him to a higher standard because you know he is that good

No he doesn't. His striking defense is 69% of strikes avoided.

Aldo is 72%
RDA is 70%
Lawler is 62%
Weidman is 63%
Jon Jones is 66%
Cain is 61%
