I think at first he started doing it only to build up his fights but somewhere in the process he really lost touch reality and started to believe his own hype. He thought nobody could take his left hand and he was lost when he saw Nate take it and still keep going.
Would anything go differently if Connor fought more methodically?

Hes been this way since before entering the UFC so I dont know what hype that is. Conor just fought a better fighter tonight and thats it.

Nah, he is just a Freemason who uses upper-hand magic. That's all. He's no woman.

Man who gives a fuck when your personality makes you millions. You can be a humble D.J. Mighty Mouse and go undefeated in your division for the rest of your life, probably come home with just about 2 million. Or you can talk a little smack like Ronda and Conor, lose pretty disasterly, and come home with more than 10 million. Your pick.

That's what happens when you look past tough opponents to even tougher opponents. Talking about fighting Robbie Lawler at UFC 200. He had plans for after this fight before this fight even took place.

The best fighters focus on one fight at a time.

You lose and you learn at least the best fighters do, lets see what happens

I honestly think he was just as surprised at how the Aldo fight went, but played it cool in the public eye. Sure, he has great movement, power, etc. But no one saw that finish happening that quickly. I think that was the moment he truly started eating up the hype UFC put behind him.

It would be hard not to get a little caught up in the wave he was riding on. The pressure is off now,he can rebuild .

Conor fan here agreeing with TS. He has not business fighting BJJ monsters at Welter. It was a hail mary that should never have happened.
